I want to remark two important facts about your company. First, the treatment to your eldery customers; my mother is flying on your company today from BogotĆ” to Paris and she didn’t have the ticket to come back to BogotĆ” (because as written in the confirmation email, she will have it on the counter) and instead of READING the policy of the other company, you scared her and put a 70 years old lady in distress. Second, Your agents should, by international custom’s law, read in English, as it is the language used around the world and pay special attention to a person who is old. I really expect that she doesn’t have any health issues due to the disrespect and lack of attention from this company. They suggested her that she would be deported in Madrid because of a paper that she could not have.

    Sincerely,

    Natalia PelƔez

Air Europa seems to have a problem regarding elderly clients if I go by my own experience and other comments I have seen. In fact, I believe Air Europaā€™s actions in my case can be construed as misrepresentation, if not outright lies. I intend to fight my case to the highest instances if necessary and I will post the outcome on this site if allowed to do so.

What happened? I paid 32 million Colombian pesos (Approx US$ 7,000) for Business Class return flights to, and from Medellin/Madrid specifically chosen according to the needs of myself and my wife. Our special needs? We are both elderly and suffer disabilities that make long haul flights agonizing unless the ā€œbestā€ seating is used and which can require flight reservation changes at late notice if they flare up unexpectedly. Accordingly, our reservations are specifically chosen to permit the flexibility of Cancellation and Refund if necessary and we paid heavily for this privilege. Result, our disabilities unfortunately flared up and we decided to cancel the flights well within the notification deadlines ā€“ Now, Air Europa are refusing to refund our flight cancellation and limiting their refund offer to credit notes for future Air Europa flights.

It seems to me that this issue is especially a problem for the elderly and, as an important sector of the travelling population, they need to be made fully aware Air Europa has little to zero sympathy to their prevalence to flight disruptions and may see fit to stretch the flight cancellation conditions to the maximum of their own interests.
