My wife is Vietnamese who came to HK as my dependent many years ago. Her last visa extended to stay was until 04 July 2020. Before that, we went to Bangladesh to take up some works for myself and from then we were stuck here in Bangladesh due to Covid pandemic.
We were supposed to go back HK before the expiry date of her visa for the extension. But the lockdowns made it not possible. I wrote to Immigration Department for advice and we were told to do the extension upon arrival at HK the next time. The situation has remained as such until recently.
My dad passed away sadly a few days ago due to Covid infection. I am the eldest son and we must go back HK to arrange for his funeral. We went to Chinese Embassy in Dhaka this morning for a visitor visa for my wife to enter HK but were refused. They could only deal with diplomat and official visas. The councillor asked us to contact Immigration Department in HK for further assistance.
I would humbly request if you could offer some advice to us especially during this desperate time. I will only need an one time entry visa for my wife to enter HK with me this time. After her arrival at HK, we will be able to get her extension straightaway.
Would you please assist us in getting the application to Immigration Dept for my wife’s entry visa? We will be ready to book our flights for HK anytime after receipt of the visa.
