My husband and I had a flight yesterday from Cartagene to Panama to Fort Lauderdale, when we got to the gate in Panama; we found out that Copa overbooked the flight and we didn’t have our seats (which we bought months ago with Expedia). The lady at the counter said that they have the right to sell more seats and leave people behind (how is that possible). The put us on a different flight and a different destination, Miami. We lost our rental car reservation in Fort Lauderdale and we had to booked another one in Miami. When we finally got to Miami at 10:00 p.m last night we found out that one of our suitcases was missing, after waiting and waiting the lady at the carousel told us to go to the Copa office to do the claim and to wait for her outside of the immigration area to go there. After more than 20 min. she never showed up and when we tried to find the Copa office and officer told us that Copa didn’t have a office in Miami. The Copa counter was closed of course because it was almost midnight and we couldn’t do the report. After calling and calling we finally did a “report” and today we still don’t have and answer from them or a call about our missing luggage. The Copa lady in Miami lied to us and let us there waiting for her, the online customer service is horrible and calling them is even worse. We have valuables for more then $1,000 in our luggage and we don’t know what else to do. We lived in Naples, Fl. so is not easy for us to go back to the airport at this point. Please if there is an attorney out there or any law to control this airline let me know.
