I booked a return flight from Lagos to Boston with Ethiopian Airlines for 2 passengers. My attempt to pay online was unsuccessful because the amount involved “exceeded the maximum transaction limit for the day”, was the reply I got. Thank you for flying to my city, Enugu Nigeria.
However, i urge you to open up a ticketing office in the nearby city of Onitsha. A lot of your passengers are business men from in the big commercial city of Onitsha. Although a few people can purchase tickets online with a credit card, Nigeria is still a cash-based society where people still prefer to purchase their tickets in cash at ticketing offices. The absence of a ticketing office in Onitsha has continued to cost Ethiopian airlines a lot of passengers from this key city in the region.
In terms of cost, it will cost next to nothing to rent a shop near the Onitsha Main market or New Market road or even at the Onitsha City Mall GRA. All Ethiopian airlines needs to have in an Onitsha ticketing office is one computer with internet connection operated by one sales person. You simply tell your customer to go to your preferred bank along the New Market road and pay the ticket price into the Ethiopian airlines bank account and get a bank check or a confirmation that the full ticket price had been paid. Then the sales person will use their computer to book the ticket online and print a temporary confirmation of ticket number for the customer. The customer can then print their ticket and boarding passes when they get to Enugu international airport.
Please open a ticketing office in Onitsha so that you can reap even greater reward for flying into Nigeria’s commercial regions.
