Standard weight and size of each bag

  • Linear dimension: 158 cm. (62 in) (width + height + length).
  • Weight: 23 kg. (50 in) You must pay for additional baggage if your bag exceeds these dimensions and weight restrictions.
  • Items of baggage that exceed the permitted maximum dimensions over 203 linear centimeters (79 in) or the permitted maximum weight over 45 kilos (99 lb) will not be admitted as baggage in the hold.

Baggage allowance for your flight route and cabin category

Domestic Flights

In Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru

  • Domestic flights within Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru allow one bag weighing 23 kg. (50 lb).

Exception: On flights between continental Chile and Easter Island you can take one additional bag of up to 23 kg.

Within Brazil

  • Domestic flights in Economy cabin within Brazil allow 23 kg (50 lb), with no limit on the number of bags.

Regional flights

Between Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Uruguay

  • If you are traveling in the Economy cabin on flights between Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, you can take 2 bags weighing up to 23 kg (50 lb) in total.
  • If you are traveling in Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin on any flights between Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, you can take 3 bags weighing up to 69 kg (150 lb) in total.

Flights to or from Brazil

  • If your flight departs to or from Brazil and you are traveling in Economy cabin, you can take 23 kg (50 lb) with no limit on the number of bags.
  • If you are traveling in Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin you may take 69 kg (150 lb) with no limit on the number of bags.

Exception: Flights from the Caribbean allow up to 2 bags weighing 64 kg (140 lb) in total if traveling in Economy cabin, and up to 3 bags weighing 96 kg (210 lb) in total for Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin.

Between South America (except for Quito) and North America & Oceania

  • If you’re traveling in the Economy cabin you can take up to 46 kg (100 lb) distributed between 2 bagsĀ that each weighs 23 kg (50 lb) each.
  • For the Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin, you can take up to 69 kg (150 lb), distributed among 3 bagsĀ that each weighs 23 kg (50 lb) each.

Between South America (except for Ecuador, Peru and Brazil) and Europe (except for London)

  • If you are traveling in the Economy cabin, you can take up to 23 kg (50 lb) distributed between 2 bags.
  • For the Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin, you can take up to 69 kg (150 lb) distributed among 3 bags that each weighs 23 kg (50 lb).

Between South America (except Brazil) and Tahiti or the Caribbean (includes Aruba)

  • If you are traveling in the Economy cabin, you can take up to 23 kg (50 lb) distributed between 2 bags.
  • For the Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin, you can take up to 69 kg (150 lb) distributed among 3 bags that each weighs 23 kg (50 lb).

Between South America and Africa

  • If you’re traveling in the Economy cabin, you can take up to 46 kg (100 lb) distributed between 2 bags weighing 23 kg (50 lb) each.
  • For the Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin, you can take up to 69 kg (150 lbs) distributed among 3 bags that weigh 23 kg (50 lb) each.

Between countries in North America

  • If you are traveling in the Economy cabin, you can take up to 23 kg (50 lb) distributed between 2 bags.
  • For the Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin, you can take up to 69 kg (150 lb) distributed among 3 bags that each weighs 23 kg (50 lb).

Between countries in Oceania

  • If you are traveling in the Economy cabin, you can take up to 23 kg (50 lb) distributed between 2 bags.
  • For the Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin, you can take up to 69 kg (150 lb) distributed among 3 bags that each weighs 23 kg (50 lb).

Between countries in Europe (except London)

  • If you are traveling in the Economy cabin, you can take up to 23 kg (50 lb) distributed between 2 bags.
  • For the Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin, you can take up to 69 kg (150 lb) distributed among 3 bags that each weighs 23 kg (50 lb).

Exceptions:

  • If your flight departs from Brazil or you have a connection there, and you’re traveling in the Economy cabin, you can take up to 64 kg (140 lb) distributed between 2 bags that each weighs 32 kg (70 lb). For the Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin, you can take up to 3 bags with a combined weight of 96 kg (210 lb).
  • Flights between Ecuador/Peru and Europe in the Economy cabin allow 2 bags that each weighs 23 kg (50 lb). For the Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin, you can take 3 bags with a combined weight of 69 kg (15 lb).
  • For flights from Europe to Brazil, if you are traveling in the Economy cabin, you can take up to 46 kg (100 lb) distributed in 2 bags that each weighs 23 kg (50 lb). For the Premium Business or Premium Economy cabin, you can take 3 bags that each weighs 23 kg (50 lb).
  • Flights departing from or arriving to London (United Kingdom) allow up to 2 bags weighing 32 kg. each; flights in the Premium Business and Premium Economy cabins allow 3 bags weighing 32 kg. each.

    Please confirm that a hand luggage and a checked baggage is allowed on a flight from Quito to Cuenca with no extra charge.
    How much would it cost for a 2nd checked baggage? Traveler is coming from Canada to Cuenca
