I was invited to an international conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina The third annual Global Brain Health Institute conference in conjunction with Alzheimer’s Association International Conference, This conference is the most imminent in the specialty and it is a great opportunity to attend such prestigious conference.
my talk was supposed to be on Sunday 15/4/2018 afternoon, so I was supposed to be passenger on Lufthansa flight number 583 on Saturday 14/4/2018 3:20pm
I arrived to the boarding desk at 12:40pm and applied my passport and ticket to board, my passport is a special passport issued by the Ministry of External affairs being a Professor in the university going for a conference. I checked in the Argentina embassy once I received my conference invitation and I was informed that I do not need a visa
The employee at the boarding desk took my papers and he kept looking on the system then he told me that I can not go on the flight as my passport need a visa!!!! I told him that I went to embassy and they told me that I do not need one but he told me that this is wrong
unfortunately I could not contact the embassy at that time because it was Saturday (weekend) and the embassy was closed so after 2 hours of discussions I was accompanied outside the airport and could not go to the conference. very disappointing
I do not understand where is the problem as I checked next day again with embassy they told me that I can go without visa the same answer when I attended to the embassy weeks back , what happened to me is a crime
I missed a very important conference which was a very important step up in my carrier, and for my specialty “the Geriatric medicine” in Egypt especially when I am launching the First Geriatric Hospital in Egypt and in Middle East and I needed the support and the help of such strong organization as the Global Brain Health Institute.
In addition to be able to go to attend this conference I made changes in my patients’ schedule and that costed me a lot , also I had to take heparin injection for fear of any problem due to the long time of the flight
what happened with me is a crime, a crime that must be investigated and the one responsible for such a mistake must be punished and I need to be compensated for such stupid mistake

Very bad customer service. They do not answer the phone. The worse customer service ever I have seen.
Today 21/11/2020 the flight # 581 for me(Sohair Elasyed Aly Abrabou) was canceled due to USA Visa type B1/B2. that makes me upset
at the CAI airport !!.
