I am a bonafide student of Australian National University, Canberra, Australia and I am studying four years course in Bachelor of Engineering. My course has started from June 2016 and it will continue till September 2020. I will be visiting my home town (New Delhi, India) from Canberra during summer /winter vacations.

As a student, please let me know whether I am entitle to carry 40 kg baggage (in total 3 pieces) during my each travel either from India to Canberra to New Delhi or vice versa.

I am asking this information as a general rules for student. For instance jet airways has scheme for students as ā€œeduJetterā€ In this scheme as a student traveling with Jet Airways are entitled to receive
ā€¢ Up to 69 kgs free excess baggage.
ā€¢ Baggage tagged and checked-in up to the final destination.

Provided student must have the following documents for verification:
    ā€¢ Student visa (As applicable).
ā€¢ A copy of your official acceptance offer letter from the university in the name of student)

What about the Qantas? Is there any such scheme for students?

    Regards,

    Sarjeet Singh

I am flying from Delhi to Sydney on 9th Feb 2022. Would request if you can please provide information regarding check-in baggage and cabin baggage for Economy, Premium Economy and Business class. If I check-in 2 baggage what extra charges I need to pay? Are there any extra baggage allowance for students travelling to Australia.

Thanking you in advance and hoping for an early response from your end.

    Hi Qantas,
Our struggle with Qantas started when I needed to reschedule our flights due to a major accident my husband met in India on 27th Feb. Long waiting hours before the call is answered and then calls dropping every two minutes. It took 10 hours to reschedule our flights.
Right now , we are due to fly on 5th April and still no courtesy to inform us about the business class upgrade we requested due to my husband’s condition.
Airlines is so busy selling their business class seats that they cannot even accommodate one medically unfit person via frequent flyer points upgrade request.
I don’t think we will ever use Qantas again for our travel.
