I lost my bag in Sri Lankan airline today and nobody has knowledge of how to trace it. I called the customer care and all that they could tell is ‘please callback your voice is not clear’. You can’t trace an international traveler’s bag with their ticket details..then why do you collect so many details from travels. Is it how you protect personal properties of your customers?Do you realise how important personal bags are for people? Such an unprofessional and disorganised travel company. I have least hopes that I will get my baggage back but I will ensure to not to fly ‘flysmiles’ or let any of my friends board your flight again. I wish I could Undo my decision to fly your airline.

    Flight number UL504, 15 October 2019
    Booking reference: K3RRVM
    Ticket number: 603 2111325606
    Skywards Blue number: EK113 162 335

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I previously sent the following message to ‘[email protected], and they prompted me to forward this complaint to you at ‘[email protected]’.

I made a direct online booking with http://www.srilankan.com for return flights from LHR to CMB, and this booking was placed on 2 September 2019, and paid for by personal debit card. I have a very strong complaint about a serious issue with my experience undertaking the first flight under this booking.

The booking reference was K3RRVM. The ticket number was 603 2111325606.

The outbound flight from London Heathrow was the UL504 on 15 October 2019, and the return flight will be from Colombo Bandaranaike on 24 November (UL505). I booked and paid for these two flights, AND, in addition, I selected and paid for ‘exit row seats’, which cost approximately GBP60 per flight – the base ticket price was GBP535.62, but with additional costs for the exit row seats and carbon offset fee, the full amount I paid using my debit card was GBP658.62, debited from my bank account on 5 September 2019.

For the outbound flight on 15 October 2019, the exit row seat number allocated to me was 50H – this was the exit row – but when I checked in and boarded this flight, I was issued a completely different seat number (26F), which was clearly not an exit row seat. I immediately made it very clear to the cabin staff that this situation was not acceptable, and that I required the exit row seat – the staff understood the issue straight away, especially given my height. The flight was full, and the cabin crew were unable to place me in an exit row seat. Consequently, I had an utterly dreadful, tiring, uncomfortable and disturbed flight, with no sleep, and without being able to sit in the newly-allocated seat due to my height (6’4”), I spent the majority of the flight standing near the stewards’ areas instead, possibly to their huge annoyance. The cabin crew (including a gentleman called Sanjeewa) were generally sympathetic to my situation – I showed them my booking reservation clearly indicating that I’d bought an exit row seat (50H), but had then been issued an INCORRECT seat (a nominal seat in the centre, 26F), but they were not able to do anything to resolve the situation, as the flight was completely full.

In light of this disgusting experience, I would like you to address three things for me:

    1. Please explain why you offer exit row seats (and receive extra funds for this service), if you then blatantly fail to fulfill your obligation to provide these seats.

    2. Kindly compensate me at your earliest convenience on the following basis: GBP60 for the payment of the unfulfilled exit row seat, plus GBP200 for the utter inconvenience and sheer discomfort I experienced on this flight – this was inexcusable, and compounded by the fact that I recently sustained a knee injury for which I am about to undergo orthopedic treatment – I can provide evidence of this if you require it. This painful injury was another reason that I made the decision to commit further funds to Sri Lankan Airlines for an exit row seat, in order to manage the pain.

    3. Confirm that I will DEFINITELY, with no doubt whatsoever, be issued the correct exit row seat (this has been confirmed on the flight summary as seat 50K) for my return flight, UL505 on 24 November, CMB to LHR. Alternatively, if you cannot confirm this seat (FOR WHICH I HAVE PAID EXTRA), kindly issue me with a free upgrade to Business Class on this flight in order that the legroom I need, as a tall passenger with an injury, is not in jeopardy. Kindly contact me by email if you require my bank details in order to complete this compensation payment (total: GBP260), which I expect to be completed within the next seven days (this message is dated 18 October 2019). I consider this claim to be completely reasonable, based on the events of 15 October 2019 and the horrible problems I suffered.

I look forward to hearing from you presently.

Would you please let me know about the arrival of srilankan airline charted flight to riyadh……. And how to booking to that flight.

  • Ibralebbe Abdul Hameeed

I came to UK in March this year by Emirates on a return ticket. I applied for repatriation to High Commission and SriLankan airline office in London contacted me and I booked a flight to Colombo over the phone and made payment by card. Although I had a return ticket to Colombo on Emirates I mad the booking through SriLankan because I was made to understand that only Srilankan airline authorised to fly to Colombo. I asked for a refund of my airfare from Srilankan I am not getting a proper reply. My wife a and I have a return ticket from Emirates and top of this we have paid over Ā£2,000 to Srilankan airline for both of us. Appreciate if early action is taken to return the airfare paid. Thank you. Ticket No: 6032111944851 and 852
