Tunisair Baggage Allowance

 Tunisair orSociété Tunisienne de l’Air,  is the flag carrier airline of Tunisia. Formed in 1948, it operates scheduled international services to European, African and Middle Eastern destinations. Its main base is Tunis-Carthage International Airport. The airline’s head office is in Tunis, near Tunis Airport. Tunisair is a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization.

Baggage Policy

Carry on Baggage:

Tunisair (TU) provides passengers with a carry-on allowance determined by your ticket class. The sum of each piece’s length, width and height must not exceed 115 cm, including the pockets and wheels. The allowances and restrictions are as follows:

• Espace privilege: 2 pieces no more than 10 kg in total
• Economy Class: 1 piece no more than 8 kg

Checked Baggage / Hold Baggage

• Tunisair’s (TU) checked baggage / hold luggage policy depends on the class of ticket purchased and the route travelled.
• Each checked bag cannot be heavier than 32 kg to be carried as checked baggage.
• The sum of each bag’s length, width and height cannot exceed 158 cm.
• A maximum of 10 pieces of hold baggage per passenger is allowed.
• If your baggage item’s weight exceeds 32kg/ 70.5 lb, please contact the Cargo Department.

Excess Baggage Charges:

Tunisair’s (TU) fee for overweight baggage:

Tunisair (TU) charges overweight baggage fees depending on the flight route. All checked luggage must be no more than 32 kg. The fees are as follows:

Specific features and Baggage allowance exceptions

• Pets (dogs, cats, birds): Animal and crate weight will be charged as excess baggage. Except for Service Dogs, which travel free of charge, animals are not accepted under the baggage allowance.
• Passengers with reduced mobility: Passengers with reduced mobility may carry a wheelchair and/or another personal mobility device at no extra cost.
• Infants and children: Infants and children paying at least 50% of the adult fare are entitled to the same baggage allowance as adults.
• Infants without a personal seat are allowed only one piece of baggage weighing 10 kg (115 cm) and one folding stroller or car seat.
• Sports equipment: Except golf bags (maximum 15 KG), dry ice and ammunition, sports equipment and bicycles are subject to the same Piece Concept excess baggage tax conditions.

What are the prohibited items from carriage as or in Checked Baggage?

• Explosives.
• Fireworks.
• Compressed gas.
• Radioactive products.
• Organic peroxides and oxidants.
• Toxic products.
• Corrosive substances.
• Combustibles, flammable liquids.
• Electric devices that produce extreme heat (diving lamps).
• Weapons.
• Sharp objects.
• Products of animal origin.
• Lithium battery-powered transportation devices such as hoverboards, airboards, oxboards, e-skates and waveboards, even if the battery is disconnected or removed.

Are there fees for baggage on Tunisair ?

There are no fees for baggage within your baggage allowance, fees are levied for excess baggage.

Are there fees for sports equipment on Tunisair (TU)?

Passengers are allowed to carry up to 15 kg of golfing equipment free of charge. All other sports equipment is charged standard excess baggage fees.
