Credit Shell (IndiGo Airlines)
Credit Shell refers to a credit note issued for a cancelled PNR, which can applied to a future booking for the same passenger(s).
When and how do I get a credit shell?
If your flight suspended because of the COVID-19 outbreak, Indigo have automatically created a credit shell for your Passenger Name Record (PNR).
Where you can view your Credit Shell balance?
You can easily view your credit shell balance on your itinerary. Visit here to retrieve your itinerary and check your balance.
How long is the credit shell valid, and when does it expire?
- 1 year from the date of issuance.

- Proceed to search for a flight of your choice
- On the payment page, select ‘use credit shell’
- Enter PNR/Booking reference and email ID/last name
- Enter mobile number linked to your booking (for guest user)
- Confirm OTP (for guest user)
- Click on the ‘Redeem’ button.

Is it possible to get a cash refund instead of accepting a credit shell?
The flight cancellations are a result of the lockdown imposed to manage the outbreak of the coronavirus. To address cancellations, a credit shell has been established, valid for one year from the issuance date for the same passenger(s).
How can I cancel a booking for a flight which is currently operational post lockdown?
If you wish to cancel a booking for a flight operational post the lockdown, you can cancel anytime up to 2 hours prior to the schedule departure for domestic and 4 hours prior for International flight, cancellation fee shall be applicable. You may either opt for refund or credit shell for the balance amount.
Credit Shell – Terms and conditions
1. The credit shell is valid to book until 1 year from the date of creation. You may choose your travel date as per your convenience.
2. The credit shell is non-transferable. It can be used for travel only by those customers who booked in the original PNR.
3. In case of multiple passengers, the amount will get equally divided and utilized accordingly.
