How to File a Complaint about Flight Issues to DGCA?

1.First Contact the Airline

Before filing with DGCA, you must raise the complaint with your airline (e.g., IndiGo Customer Care).
Keep evidence such as:

  • Boarding pass
  • Ticket
  • Delay/cancellation SMS
  • Email communication
  • Receipts for additional expenses (hotel/food/taxi)

2. File Complaint on DGCA’s AirSewa Portal

DGCA uses the AirSewa Platform for passenger grievances.

Option A: AirSewa Website

  • Visit www.airsewa.gov.in
  • Click “File a Complaint”
  • Select category: Airlines → Flight Cancellation / Delay
  • Enter flight number, date, PNR, airport, and issue details
  • Upload supporting documents
  • Submit

Option B: AirSewa Mobile App

  • Available on Android & iOS.
  • Go to → Grievances → Airline Issues → Flight Disruption

3. Track Your Complaint

  • You will receive a unique Grievance ID. Use it to track your issue from: AirSewa → Track Grievance
  • Airlines must respond within 7–30 days, depending on the issue.

4. Escalate to DGCA (If Airline Fails to Resolve)

If the airline gives an unsatisfactory answer or doesn’t respond, you can escalate by emailing DGCA directly:
