    To whom it may concern
I am iranian citizen and I am about to book a one way flight from istanbul to islamabad on 8th august. I am wondering that there are no prohibitions and restriction rules to us to this destination beside negative pcr+ pass track+ pakistan visa. The Pakistan embassy in iran told us in order to reach islamabad is to stay 10 days in third country like turkey.

    Regards

On Monday, 16th of August 2021, the one in charge at Accra international airport just abused power at the expense of the poor thus to say that, He came from nowhere and stopped the queue checking in and never allowed them to check in. On Tuesday we went to their office in Accra to complain about that and they instructed us to go back to the airport so that they will allow us to travel which is not true because they asked us to buy another ticket. We demand an explanation and a refund, we intend to take it to the next level…some of us struggled before making little money.

    Karen Pickles
Ticket numbers; Karen Pickles 176 2343277710

In the absence of any reply to the complaint made electronically through the Emirates Airlines computer system I am writing to you in the hope that you will assist me.

I have set down below the chronology of events and also included the text of the complaint made electronically to which o reply has been forthcoming.

In short, I made a booking to fly from Manchester to Dubai and on to Melbourne with the return via Dubai to London Gatwick.

Due to issues beyond my control in Australia my wife and I were unable to go to Australia but did arrive in Dubai where, despite the very valued assistance of Jason and Omar at the check-in desk who worked with us tirelessly to try to work through the requirements of the Australian Government, we remained until we departed on 5th January 2022. They should be commended for their excellent work.

It became clear on the evening of 30th December and early hours of 31st December 2021 that we were not going to obtain the necessary approval to fly to Australia and so, on the advice of Jason and Omar, we put the Dubai to Melbourne leg of our journey into suspense ā€“ made it ā€œopenā€ so that it could be used once we were cleared to travel. This was done before the 02.00 deadline after which we would have been recorded as ā€œno show.ā€

On 3rd January 2022 I went to the airport again for the purpose of effecting a name change on reference G8SRC2 (which I will refer to below in the page headed ā€œsecondary mattersā€) and to place the Melbourne to Dubai leg of reference NM6Y7J into suspense / make open.

I was advised that if I were to use the Dubai to London Gatwick leg on that booking then the Melbourne sectors would be lost. Accordingly, I was advised that the remainder of MD6Y7J should be made open and available for use in the following 2 years and that I should buy new tickets to fly to London Gatwick from Dubai. This I did under reference BXFL2. I subsequently amended the date of the return to London Gatwick from 17th January to 6th January and we flew on the 6th.

Looking in the Emirates systems it appears that all reference to booking MD6Y7J has been deleted.

This is clearly an error since I was told on 31st December 2021 that the Dubai to Melbourne leg was open and on 4th January 2022 (I started the process on the third, but it was completed on the 4th) that the entirety of the remainder had been made open. Accordingly, I should be able to see it in your system.

Will you please arrange to retrieve the remainder of booking MD6Y7J and restore the Dubai to Melbourne, Melbourne to Dubai and Dubai to London Gatwick sectors in your system for use in the next two years.

I look forward to receiving confirmation that this has been done by email at [email protected]

    Yours faithfully,

    John Pickles.

    Chronology;

10.11.21. Made booking under ref MD6Y7J.
    29.12.21. Flew to Dubai
30.12.21 Spent 2.5 hours at the check-in desk with Jason and Omar.
31.12.21 Went to the ticket desk to put the Dubai to Melbourne into suspence / make open.
3.1.22 Went to the ticket desk to make a name change on ref G8SRC2 and make the remainder of ref MD6Y7J open.
4.1.22 Went to the ticket desk to make ref G8SRC2 open and change the date on ref BXFLF2 to depart on 5.1.22.
    5.1.22 Flew to London Gatwick.

    Electronic complaint acknowledged on 6.1.22 at 13.15. No reply received;

    I had a booking under reference MD6Y7J.
I had to put the Dubai to Melbourne leg into suspense / make it open which I did at Dubai airport on 31.12.21 before the 02.00 cut-off. I had spent many hours at the airport with Jason and Omar on the afternoon of 30.12.21 dealing with matters relating to Australia. When it became clear that those issues were not going to be resolved in time, on their advice, I went to the ticket desk and made that leg open; as already stated.
I put the remainder (i.e Dubai to Melbourne, return to Dubai and Dubai to London Gatwick) into suspense / made it open on 4.1.22 when I was told that if I used the Dubai to London leg then the remainder (being Dubai to Melbourne and return) would be lost. Accordingly, I bought tickets to return from Dubai to London Gatwick. The reference for that was BXFL2.
Looking at “manage my bookings” the MD6Y7J reference has disappeared. All that remains is G8SRC2 from Dubai to Colombo and return which is “open.”
I need to have the remainder of ref MD6Y7J reinstated in the system since I will need to use it within the 2 years which I was told it is valid for.
For the avoidance of doubt, there are 3 legs to be reinstated; Dubai to Melbourne, Melbourne to Dubai and Dubai to London Gatwick for 2 passengers, Mrs Karen Pickles and Mr John Pickles.
I look forward to receiving your confirmation that this has been done.

    Secondary matters.

While writing, I feel that you should be made aware of the frustration caused by the failings of both your ā€œcontact usā€ site, the apparent lack of training of the staff on the ticketing desk at the airport and the difficulties experienced in using the website.

    1. The ā€œcontact usā€ and live web chat system very rarely permits a user to enter into a chat with one of your staff. I have tried many times over the course of the past week to deal with the subject matter of the main complaint above but without success.

Most galling and exasperating was an email seeking feedback from a live chat which did not happen.

Most of the time live chat is simply not available.

On the rare occasions that it is working, the screen will display ā€œchat in progressā€ but this does not ever lead to the next box to commence the chat on a mobile phone and, during the course of the past week, has not reached the stage at which a live chat in fact happens on my laptop.

It is not fit for purpose.

    2. You should also be aware that some of your staff are in need of training. When I went to the ticket desk at the airport to make a name change the process took 35 minutes in which time, after 25 minutes, the man at the desk told me that the system allows only the surname to be changed. I know this to be incorrect since I had to change an error with the spelling of my name on ref MD6Y7J. Eventually, he found a way to make the correction.

It was this same person who allegedly placed the unused parts of ref MD6Y7J into suspense / open and sold to me the ticket under reference BXFLF2. From what I can tell, while he succeeded in selling me a ticket, he failed to preserve the sectors which I need and which are the subject of the main complaint.

    3. Both my wife and I are Emirates members. I have Silver number 528298562 while my wife has Blue 108628520.

I am unable to find a way to log into my account nor to make a ā€œfamilyā€ account. The system tells me that I am already in a family and accordingly cannot be included in Karen Picklesā€™ family.

It is not possible for me to add her to my ā€œfamilyā€ because I cannot find it.
