I travelled from Bt to LL on 9 August 2019 to connect to Addis thereafter to London Heathrow. I was put on an afternoon flight from Blantyre (Bt) because the morning plane was stuck in Dar es Salaam after it had developed a technical Fault. The Ethiopian flight out of LIlongwe was going to be delayed to allow us to join it. I was the last person to disembark from the BT flight. There was no one guiding people who would be on the flight to Addis. I asked a lady in the arrivals hall about the arrangement and she tried to get in touch with the Ethiopian staff without success. I was told that because that I should go to the Ethiopian office and there was no one there. I eventually met the staff who claimed they had done the transfers and had been shouting as people were disembarking that they should go straight to the plane that was on the tarmac. I did not get such guidance. The boss was called to help me. He initially said they should change so that I travel the following day without pay. But changed his tune when he heard that I was Malawian. I was asked to pay K372000 to change the flight, and find my own accomodation. The lady who was doing the transfer reported erroneously to the plane captain that all passengers had been transferred. My luggage left without me. I have no option but to cancel this trip and lose the K1000000 plus money. The system did not work today and be careful , you may be the next victim.
