    My wife missed her return flight back to South Africa on the 27th December 2017 due to hospitalization and I was asked to pay the difference which I did pay 360 dollars to enable my wife fly back to South Africa, my yonas a supervisor in the call centre assisted me to do the booking and asked me to mk payment through the agent but getting to the agent they said since the airline has done the booking I must make payment to them, then I approach the Johannesburg reservation office they turned me down and said the year can not take payment from me, since my wife is in Nigeria I should make payments there and so the reservation team headed by Mr Endashaw Toloso on the 29th December with derails of the banks accounts and contact details in Nigeria which I now contacted them on phone and I was told to make Payment and send prove of payment to them this I did on the 2nd January 2018 and emailed to them but uptill now am yet to receive my ticket to enable my wife take her for the 16th January, several phone calls to the ticket payment team through Mrs meron has not helped my situation as I write this message to you am so frustrated now that am disappointed with ethiopian airlines which claims to be one of the best airlines in the African continent a mystery I will never take ethiopian airlines because if these nasty experience and I will not hesitate to publish my esperience to the world to see if my situation is not resolved.     I booked my ticket from Cape Town to the Philippines on the 2 May 2018, leaving for the Philippines on the 16th at 14:50 flight no. ET 846 via Bole on the 16TH 22;50 flight no. ET 648.
    This morning I quest when I checked my details online, I see that there is a 2-day layover in Addis, and know will only be arriving in the Philippines on the 19th at !7:50.
    This is unacceptable as I am one of the keynote speakers at an international academic conference, that begins on the 19th. I trust that you will be able to get me to The Philppines atleast by the 18th June

    I have spent the past 3 days trying to contact Ethiopian airlines but have failed to do so. It seems to be the norm with Ethiopian airlines. I have phoned numerous numbers, from the customer service line in Ethiopia, ticketing offices based in Cape Town and Johannesburg and also the Ethiopian Airlines manager and reservations desk at Cape Town and Johannesburg International Airport. The phone lines are either engaged, no-one answers or a consultant answers and then the line goes dead. It has been extremely frustrating, as my client needs to cancel is flight departing tomorrow (13 July).
    CPT – ROME – ticket ref. PEQVYH – Alessandro Gigli.
    I understand there will be $150 cancellation charge and a refund of $250.

    Should I not hear from anyone regarding this by close of business tomorrow, I will be taking this further with the Consumer Commission.
    I trust someone will contact me urgently regarding the cancellation above.

    I have never been able to reach this office on the phone, like now I tried several times and no answer. I always have to drive 20km to their office or call the Ethiopian Airlines office in Addis Ababa at an elevated cost as it is a very busy centre and getting through is also difficult but at least they eventually answer.

    This is shameful for such an efficient company, I know so because I am a frequent flyer.

    This has got to be the worst airline in the world! They must have so many complaints as call center agents take 2 hours and still no answer. Eventually I get through, 2 hours 20 min and then I get put on hold for a further 15 min! Global call center my butt, most of them don’t understand what you are asking. The service at Ethiopian airlines is SHOCKING.

    All they can say if you have a complaint we can give you email address. Have 5 outstanding ticket numbers and no one gets back to you. So my first statement stands, are you that bad that you have that many complaints you are unable to get back to your customers?

    Worst ever services from Ethiopian Airline including Harassment

    I booked my flight from Muscat (Oman) to Johannesburg (South Africa) through Ethiopian Airlines, I was harassed throughout the journey and itā€™s still going on.
    Harassment at Muscat Airport: Waited for 3 hours at Muscat airport due to flight confirmation issue between South Africa Airways and Ethiopian Airways despite holding confirmed booking. However, I was allowed to travel with a boarding pass till Addis Ababa only and was assured to get the next boarding pass at Addis Ababa boarding gate.
    Harassment at Addis Ababa Airport: I was refused to issue a boarding pass for my next flight, leading to miss my flight caused by poor communication between Muscat and Addis Ababa station manager.
    ā€¢ Shocking information was passed to me that Ethiopian airlines don’t entertain South African Airline booking, not sure why I was allowed from Muscat.
    ā€¢ The Next shock to me was that I was boarded from Muscat mistakenly by Ethiopian Airline authority and now, I need to pay for their mistake.
    ā€¢ 3rd shock was, I need to book a fresh immediate flight with Ethiopian airline in order to continue my journey, otherwise they will keep my passport and let me stay there.
    ā€¢ After doing and paying everything as they asked, Airline didnā€™t even bother to think of any comfort for the passengers. I was left helpless to wait/sleep at the airport for 24 hours without any arrangements.
    Harassment at Johannesburg Airport: Didnā€™t receive my baggage.
    ā€¢ Despite multiple reminders and follow-up with Addis Ababa airline staff on my baggage, I didnā€™t receive it at my destination.
    ā€¢ Further to my shock, baggage was never loaded from Addis Ababa, which left me with no clothes, and I am still wearing 2 days old clothes, because of this I had to buy new clothes as I have important meetings to attend.

    To cut it short, I was travelling to South Africa for a short emergency business trip, which was further shortened due to negligence and poor management of Ethiopian airline. Additionally, caused me to pay a huge extra amount for flights as well as clothes without any arrangements from Ethiopian Airlines.
    To be honest, the worst ever experience on my first flight with Ethiopian Airline, will never be recommended to anyone for travel.
    I need answers to my questions:
    ā€¢ If I had a confirmed booking why it didnā€™t reflect in the Airlines systems?
    ā€¢ If it was miscommunication between the airlines, then why should I suffer?
    ā€¢ Why wasnā€™t I informed in advance?
