Hi there, I hope this message finds you well.

There is an address for the Turkey office but not a telephone number. So I am writing you from this comment box.
I have been trying to confirm specific visa regulations for Turkey nationals having an onward ticket (Ist-Munich) and flying to Los Angeles.I called the German consulate, authorized visa center, few travel agencies, and also the airlines. Though, I have not been able to get a clear answer. It is very fortunate that I found quite enough information on your web site regarding Passport, Visa & Health regulations for flying passengers. It is a 3 step thing which gives me an information at the end.

I have a ticket from United Airlines. Ä°stanbul-Munich-Los Angeles. But the operation and flying airlines are different.
Turkish Airlines is flying for Istanbul-Munich. Luftansa is flying for Munich-Los Angeles. 3 hours waiting period at Munich Airport.
I am holding a 10 year US turist visa. I do not have a Schengen visa.

What I want to know is “Do I have to get a transit visa?” So far, what I understood from your information is “I do not have to get a transit visa if I have a US visa, because I am flying to US, a non-Schengen country.”

I will highly appreciate if you could confirm that I understood this correctly. This is very important for me, I do not want to do anything wrong and go back to Istanbul from Munich. I look forward to receiving your reply.
    Kind regards,
    Nazlı Kublay
