    Dear Icelandair
    Flight F1543 Seat 2A PARIS CDG TO REYKJAVIK 28TH JULY 2018
    I refer to our previous Email correspondence in which you have stated that your contract terms allow you to ignore my request to cancel my flight on 28th July 2018 because I did not pay for it. Nor have you offered me an alternative flight and have in fact refused to talk to me direct.
    Specifically you seek to rely on your statement that as I didn’t pay for the flight you cannot accept my request, instead I must talk to OPODO.
    You further state that as OPODO were acting as my agents, it was incumbent upon them to cancel the flight on my behalf. This they did not do and as a result I am £3,800 out of pocket.
    I consider that this term is unfair pursuant to European Consumer Rights and I intend to challenge your actions in the European Court
    I accept that Iceland Air should keep the money for the flight I missed, but I contend that as the airline decided not to allow me to board because I had missed the check-in deadline, although the aircraft was delayed and still sitting on the tarmac, you must refund that part of the fare I could not use.
    I will be seeking my costs for bringing this unnecessary action.
    I look forward to hearing from you in the next 14 days before I issue a Mise en demeure.
