I just had a big problem with the company LATAM AIRLINES, on a return from Argentina.
My return included 3 flights.
After a bad time, I found myself not far from Buenos Aires on February 20th. So, I decided to take the flight 2 (and then the flight 3).
I made, more than 24 hours before, the recording on line, via the web site of the company. So I confirmed my presence for these 2 flights, confirmed in turn by the company who sent me my e-tickets.
When I went to the Buenos Aires airport on the 23rd, they refused me access to the registration because I had not insured the flight n ° 1. I explain to them that I paid for the tickets, that I made the recording on line which thus serves as confirmation, and that they themselves sent me my tickets by mail. Response from people at LATAM: “we can not do anything: it is the computer system that canceled your tickets Sir, if you want to take your flight, it’s 180 Euros penalty”.
After a good time of exchanges, I have no choice, and I explain to them that I pay the penalty. They answer me: “It’s 450 Euros.” Since then, your flight has filled up, there is no more room, you have to take another one, and therefore pay this amount.
Needless to say, I did not accept. I told them it was a shame and thieves.
Result: I bought another ticket by AMERICAN AIRLINES, 468 Euros (in addition to the one already bought at LATAM: 600 Euros).
