Heathrow Introducing stage musical shows in Terminal 5 at the airport. Heathrow’s busiest summer, expected to welcome over 30 million passengers, will provide promising artists with access to an audience larger than Glastonbury. Hundreds of music executives set to travel through the airport for festival season, showcasing their career on the stage.

The Heathrow Introducing stage, curated by Sofar Sounds, features a diverse lineup of emerging artists from various genres, including pop, jazz, folk, RnB, soul, and rock. First series of exclusive gigs take place in Heathrow Terminal 5 when passengers were given a set of live performances by acoustic rock band China Bears, folk singer-songwriter The Halfway Kid, and RnB artist Olivia Nelson who this year was named Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Runner Up. It took place on the busiest day, when 264,000 passengers are expected to pass through the airport’s doors on Sunday, June 30 – an uplift of 6% on the same date last year.

Current week there are 1.8 million passengers travel through Heathrow. The airport will have more passengers than Vienna, Zurich, Copenhagen and Lisbon see annually. Since 2009, Sofar Sounds has hosted gigs with artists like Ed Sheeran, Hozier, and Wolf Alice, with two more shows in July for music executives, summer holidays, and family gatherings.

Heathrow Airport is launching two music events, one on July 12 and the other on July 24, to showcase emerging British talent and UK culture, while also supporting British talent’s careers.

Tonia Fielding, Heathrow’s director of services, enthuses: “We’re proud that we’re providing people from around the globe the chance to experience the best of Britain’s emerging musical talent and a taste of UK culture from the moment they reach the airport, while helping British talent supercharge their careers at the same time.

The most popular destination that Brits set to fly to from Heathrow this summer is New York, followed by Los Angeles, Dublin and Dubai.
