Scoot Airlines Baggage

You may check in up to 15 pieces of baggage that do not or exceed total linear dimensions of 158cm (the sum of length, height and width), with the option to purchase up to 40kg of baggage allowance online.

In line with local Occupational Health and Safety rules, each of your checked bags cannot exceed 32kg. You’ll be required to repack your baggage if it exceeds the limit.

Scoot checked/hold luggage vs carry on

Before we get started, it’s worth noting that there are different allowances and rules for checked and carry on luggage.

Checked luggage, which is also known as hold luggage, is handed over to the airline when you check in. These bags will be carried in the hold and you won’t be able to access them during your flight.
Carry on bags are normally smaller, giving you space for your essentials only. There are some things which can’t be taken into the hold of a plane though – so do check all the details before you pack.

Non-standard baggage

While most sporting equipment and musical instruments can be checked in or carried on board, some restrictions apply to extremely large items or a large number of items. For the maximum dimensions for non standard / bulky baggage

Sport equipment

• Sporting equipment – such as golf clubs, surfboards, canoes, scuba diving apparel, skis and bicycles – counts towards your pre-purchased baggage allowance.
• If you exceed this allowance, the usual additional baggage charges will apply. This policy also applies if you’re travelling to or from the USA.
• To accept any item above 32kg as checked baggage, and these items may have to be re-packed or sent as cargo. Connect with your local cargo agent prior to your travel if you wish to transport any item above 32kg as cargo.

Excess Baggage:

You can buy up to 40kg of extra luggage allowance in advance. to pay excess baggage fees if your luggage is heavier than your allowance. Check the details for your specific flight and situation to avoid hefty fees when you arrive at the airport.

No individual piece of luggage can weigh more than 32kg (70 lbs) or have total linear dimensions of 158cm.

What are the prohibited items from carriage as or in Checked Baggage?

• Lithium batteries and lithium battery mobile power packs (like Charger Pal) not for personal uses are strictly prohibited from carriage (during flight).
• Explosives
• Combustible & non-combustible
• Toxic & non-toxic gases, compressed gases
• Lighters and matches
• Oxidant and organic peroxides
• Poisonous substances
• Infectious substances
• Radioactive or magnetized materials
• Corrosive substances
• Threatening or irritating substances

Items that not allowed to carry on Scoot Airlines Checked baggage

• Don’t keep any important documents and materials, valuable items like negotiable papers, money, jewelry, precious metal and precious metal product, curio, painting and calligraphic works, mobile phone, computer, camera, video camera, personal electronic device and samples, travel identification documents and prescribed medicine taken regularly.
• Scoot Airlines does not provide declared value of Baggage.
• The mentioned above items treated as ordinary checked baggage if Scoot Airlines are responsible for the loss of or damage to them.
