Travel during pregnancy in Tap Air Portugal

Expectant mothers can travel in Tap Air Portugal up to

36 weeks or up to 4 weeks before expected delivery date for an uncomplicated pregnancy

32 weeks
Pregnant twins, triplets, etc. for an uncomplicated pregnancy

Medical certificate is required if the pregnancy condition is

  • risk
  • complications
  • more than 36 weeks
  • of twins, triplets older than 32 weeks;
  • doubts about the time of pregnancy and the expected date of delivery;
  • with prediction of complications at birth;
  • risk of miscarriage or recent miscarriage.

The Medical Information for Fitness to Travel form (Download the form) must be completed by the passenger’s attending physician and sent to TAP.

Tap doctor reviews the completed form sent by passenger and the passenger is informed if she can travel safely.

    Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! /not professional and even fraudulent…
    Our family planned to go on Camino de Santiago for 5 days. So we arrived at Lisbon airport via TAP from Boston around 5:30 AM on 8/8/2019 to catch a connection flight from Lisbon to Madrid, scheduled for 9:15 AM and we reserved renfe to get Sarria from Madrid and hotel. But the flight was cancelled and we were assigned to the flight departing at 6:45 PM, which later was delayed several times and departed around 10:00 PM. So, we were stuck in the Lisbon airport for more than 12 hours and I lost my all reservations for the first day of our camino trip and needed to book a hotel to stay in Madrid and another bus tickets to get the second day destination-Porto Marin on Camino. We had to shorten our trip to 4 days and were got through tremendous stress due to this cancellation.
    As I was advised from the TAP agent at the airport, I was trying to file a complaint to get compensation through their Website, TAP.com/talk-to-us, but this website didn’t work even thought I tried more than 10 times and I called three times their customer service to ask about this website problem, and I was told same answers from the customer service representatives that it would work the following morning after updating their website.
    However, IT NEVER WORKED and I was not able to submit the complaints over the phone.
    This is insane and I don’t see any professionalism or customer service….. So frustrated and stressed out.
