What are the procedures or forms to submit when you enter or transit in to Canada?

Traveling to Canada

During this COVID 19 pandemic situation, passengers who wants to travel or transit to Canada must follow the below mentioned procedures

Note: Before plan to travel to Canada, please check with your travel agent or airline about the further requirements.

1. Use ArriveCAN to enter Canada (Download for Apple (IOS), Google play store / Android users)
2. Effective from 23 rd April 2021, passengers who arrives Canada must take test on Day-8

How to use / apply ArriveCAN?

Passengers are required to submit the information mentioned below online prior to the departure or before arrival at a land border crossing

• Sign in to ArriveCAN using your email id and create account.
• You will receive a confirmation code in your email. Click the confirmation code with in 24 hours.
• Enter the travel history
• Enter the contact details
• Quarantine plan (unless exempted from the mandatory requirement to quarantine set out in the emergency order under the Quarantine Act)
• COVID-19 symptom self-assessment
• government-authorized hotel details.
• You can also scan your passport, FAST card, NEXUS card, enhanced driver’s licence for easy access to your personal and contact details.
• Once completed the ArriveCAN application, you will receive a 6 digit code as a proof of submitting the application. Keep that as safe.

COVID-19 test type and requirements while traveling to Canada

Canadian government has released the latest COVID 19 test type to accept for the passengers who wants to enter Canada. Children above 5 years also included to take COVID 19 molecular tests

• Quantitative PCR (qPCR)
• Nucleic acid test (NAT) or Nucleic acid amplification test (NAATs)
• Reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP)

• Droplet digital PCR or digital droplet PCR (ddPCR)
• Transcription-mediated amplification (TMA)
• RNA (Ribonucleic acid)
• Ct (cycle threshold)
• CRISPR
• Sequencing
• Next generational sequencing (NGS) or whole genome sequencing (WGS)
• Oxford Nanopore sequencing (LamPORE)
• Detection of the N gene
• Detection of Orf1a/b
• Detection of the S gene
• Detection of the E gene
• Detection of the RdRp gene

These tests use methods such as a nasopharyngeal (NP) swab, nose swab, or saliva sample. At this time, proof of having a vaccine will not replace a negative test result.
