I bought an air ticket in February 2020 from Kuala Lumpur via Amsterdam to travel to the USA in May/June. I did submit the necessary form to allow a one-year extension for travel because flights in May/June 2020 were cancelled. I am requesting a further extension of time to book a flight since I paid for the flights, but am still unable to travel at this time.
According to the information on the KLM website, it appears to me that there is a 10-day quarantine in the Netherlands even for a transit passenger. Ten days will use up too much of the time that I is available for the whole trip to the USA. Perhaps I should add that I am above 70 years old.

Please advise how I can extend the time for me to re-book dates to use the ticket purchased in Feb. 2020 beyond Feb. 2021.
    Thank you very much.

Is a transit passenger from Malaysia who stays in the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport airport required to get tested for Covid before boarding their next flight to the USA? Does it depend on how many hours the transit time is?
if so, can this be done in the airport?
is there a fee for it, or is it free of charge?

    Thank you.
