What to expect for your travel?

Procedures to travel or enter into Nigeria

  1. A valid negative COVID PCR test result is required taken 3 days (72 hours) prior to the departure.
  2. Passengers traveling to Nigeria are required to get travel permit from https://nitp.ncdc.gov.ng/onboarding/ (Check below for the detailed procedure to get the travel permit).Online Health Declaration/Self-Reporting is required.
  3. Passenger who are not vaccinated or partially vaccinated should undergo mandatory 7 days self quarantine and they need to perform COVID PCR test on 2nd and 7th day after arrival to Nigeria.
  4. Passenger who are fully vaccinated need not undergo 7 days self quarantine whereas they required to perform COVID PCR test on 2nd day (Fully vaccinated means: 2 completed or mixed doses of either Astra Zeneca, Pfizer or Moderna vaccines; OR a single dose of Johnson and Johnson vaccine).
  5. For the connecting flight, the report is valid for 72 hours from the first point of departure.

Documents required to enter Nigeria

  • COVID-19 Negative PCR test report (taken 3 days prior to the departure)
  • Permit to Travel Certificate/QR Code
  • Passport
  • Visa (if required)

*Airlines shall be fined USD 3,500 per traveller for failure to comply with any of the pre-boarding requirements;

How to obtain Travel Permit Certificate from Nigeria International Travel Portal?

Passengers are required to get travel permit from https://nitp.ncdc.gov.ng/onboarding/

  1. Visit the above link
  2. Click “Get Permit to Travel”
  3. Fill all the required details such as Passport number, choose the arrival date, nationality
  4. Click “Get pdf”
  5. Complete all the questions regarding travel history and health.
  6. Upload the negative COVID-19 PCR result and schedule of PCR test on Days 2 and 7 (for partially vaccinated or unvaccinated travellers) and on Day 2 (for fully vaccinated travellers) on arrival in Nigeria.
  7. Only children less than 10 years old are exempted from uploading a pre-arrival negative COVID-19 PCR test result. Once this is successfully done, travellers will proceed to the payment section of the travel portal. Diplomats and Children less than 10 years are exempted from payment for the repeat test in Nigeria. Travellers are advised to still bring along an electronic or hard copy of their negative COVID-19 PCR test for presentation at the airport.
