Complaint to Latam 24/04/22 5.45 pm Case No. 40351946
URGENT: I am contacting Latam on behalf of a friend, Gabriela Dittmann, who is in transit right now, at Dubai Airport. Her ticket is from Sydney to Santiago SCL (Chile) / Reservation Code: YOHKJA ( Airline Code: PXTIJJ (EX) ). She has excess baggage with her. She has paid for the two Emirates legs (Syd to Dubai then Dubai to Paris). She now needs to make sure her excess baggage continues to be paid for to complete the trip to SCL. The baggage items ARE already ticketed to SLC. It is just the excess baggage charge that has to be worked out at Charles De Gaul Latam check in Desk. She Is leaving on the 22.30 pm flight. 24 April to Santiago via transit transfer Brazil. She has Baggage Receipt coupons from Latam (which she paid for with a flight she was due to take the day before but which Latam had to change. I can send a copy of the excess baggage receipts. Hoping these can be used as a form of payment for the final stage of her journey via Latam to SCL.
Can you :
1. confirm that the baggage is in the system, with destination SCL. And if possible, let us know
2. if Latam will apply the already purchased excess baggage (which was not used as the flight was changed).
3. How it is possible to pay the excess baggage when Gabriela has to remain on the departure lounge side of the airport?
4. Update her flight record on the online system so she can pay excess baggage on line if absolutely necessary. (It only has her previous booking for the day before which had to be changed.)
We urgently need an effective communication contact. I have called Latam support twice and they are not able to do anything to help,
I have many complaints about Latam service but need to fix the baggage system first. URGENTLY.
