Aegean airlines Launches New route on October 2nd, 2023 from Skopje International Airport to Sarajevo International Airport
TAV Airports announced the upcoming launch of a new route from Skopje International Airport to Sarajevo International Airport operated by AEGEAN from October 2nd, 2023. It was launched in partnership with AEGEAN, the Greek flag carrier airline and a member of STAR ALLIANCE.
AEGEAN will operates the flights between the two capital cities with an ATR72-600 aircraft, 3 weekly frequencies or every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Nejat Kurt, TAV Macedonia General Manager stated that it will provide excellent regional connectivity from Athens on the south, through Skopje, to Sarajevo on the north of the Balkans. This air connections marks a significant milestone in commitment as an airport operator to enhancing air travel options for our valued passengers.
Summer Flight Schedule 2023 will be by the end of October, the departure time from Skopje Airport will be at 19:00h, with arrival time at Sarajevo Airport at 20:10h, whereas the departure time from Sarajevo Airport will be at 20:50h, with arrival time at Skopje Airport at 21:50h. During Winter 23/24, similar schedule will be offered.

Roland Jaggi, Chief Commercial Officer, AEGEAN – informed that new route from Skopje to Sarajevo, commencing in October 2023 and the enhancement of our operations between Athens and Skopje through increased capacity and frequencies, it tends to expand the presence in the Balkan area and strengthen by providing increased connectivity at AEGEANās high quality services. In October, passengers from Skopje will have increased connecting opportunities via Athens hub to the AEGEAN network with almost a daily flight extending our reach to destinations across Greece, Europe, and the Middle East. This development offers opportunities for travellers to explore and experience diverse destinations with the convenience and reliability.
For the period between January ā June 2023, both Macedonian airports, Skopje International Airport and Ohrid St. Paul the Apostle Airport, handled a total of 1,3 million passengers, which is an annual increase of 41% compared to 2022, while compared to 2019, the referent year in terms of passenger traffic before covid-crisis, the increase is by 15% more passengers in the first half of this year. In terms of the number of flights for this same period, a total of 10.299 flights have been handled at both airports which is a 23% annual increase.
