How to apply Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) Application?

For Individual:
- Visit https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/applicantInfo
- Enter the applicant name, passport number, Issued country, date of the issuance, expiry date
- Select the Country of Citizenship
- Enter the Gender, Date of birth
- If you are a citizen / national of any country, mention that
- If you have been a citizen / national of any country, mention that
- Enter the travel history
- Review your application and make the payment
- Upload your passport
For Group:
You can use the group application for up to 50 members. It is not required to travel together for those 50 members.
- Visit https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/createGroup
- Enter the Applicant’s family name, given name, Organization, Date of birth, Email
- Each member’s details has to be updated
- Make the payments

How to check the individual status?
- Visit https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/individualStatusLookup
- Enter the passport number
- Date of birth
- Enter either Application number (OR)
- Country of citizenship, Issuance date, month, year and expiration date
- Click Retrieve Application
How to check the Group status?
- Visit https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/retrieveGroup
- Enter the Group ID which has sent to email(If unknown, click “I do not know Group ID)
- Enter the family name, first name, Email ID, Date of birth

Will you be able to get the refund if the application is not approved?
First you have to pay the processing fee of $4. Once approved only, you will have to pay further fee of $17.
What is the validity of approved ESTA?
ESTA is valid for 2 years from the authorized date. ESTA will be expired if your passport is expired too. So please do not fail to renew your passport
Will the ESTA expiry affects your departure if you are inside the USA?
No. It wont affect the departure when you are inside the USA
