    Dear Sir

I cannot get help on this case from the Cape Town office in South Africa so I am sending you the problem as I need someone to act on my complaint before I’ll go further and move on the legal side of things from Paris. Thank you for your understanding.

    Dear Madam

Following your advice, please find the information on Ms Marie France Okinawetshi case that turned badly because of misinformation service received from agents Yeman and Gaspard from the Ethiopian airlines office downtown Kinshasa.

Ms Okinawetsha was suppose to travel on April 12, 2017 but because her visa came late she has not been able to board. She finally received her visa on Saturday morning 9am, April 15 and rushed to the Ethiopian airlines office in Kinshasa where she was planning to pay the penalty 150 $USD fees and change the date of departure on her ticket XNSQAX. Agents Gaspard and Yeman refused, arguing that the third part, myself, who originally purchased the ticket, didn’t authentify his credit card and passport at an Ethiopian office. WRONG because I went to your office on Strand street on Thursday 14 afternoon to present my passport and credit card to senior agent Luyanda Matshak who entered it on the system the same day as you all have confirmed with the proof it has been done.

Because your office was closed for national holidays, I called the Global call center in Ethiopia and they recommended to purchase a second ticket. This is what I did with the ticket LRATIM (the one I would appreciate to be refund) But the same problem happened when she came at the airport on Monday April 17. So the airport agent told us that I should authentify my Visa card again at the Ethiopian airlines office but at the Cape Town international airport this time as they were convinced it was open. So I rushed there and of course it was closed, so she has not been allowed to board a second time with a totally valid, paid and legal ticket. I have never encounter such a nightmare travelling with an airline cie before in my life and I travel a minimum of 15 times a year.

So I came to your office to complain, thinking the authentification done on April 13 has not been registered but you confirmed it was. Then we decided to book a new flight again for Ms Okitawetshi with the first ticket (XNSQAX) that became WUVRNW for a flight on April 19. For the change I paid a penalty of 150$USD and sadly she went to the airport again but this time they refused her to board because the visa was closed by April 19, 00:00 and she was landing in Cape Town on April 20.

This trip was planned, visa was paid and approved by SA consulate, air ticket was paid and approved and credit card authentified by Ethiopian airlines office, English courses at the Cape Town university were approved and paid, Lodging was rented, meetings were planned with local TV production cie who invited her at the first place. And it became a nightmare because of the mistake of an agent at the Ethiopian airlines Kinshasa office so she has not been able to travel. When you know how it is rare to get a chance like this one when you come from DRC, it is totally unacceptable and airline should act to compensate.

Thank you for your time, your help and your understanding
