On December 30 th 2023, IndiGo will launch its first flight to the Ayodhya airport.
New Delhi: On Wednesday, IndiGo announced that it will launch its first trip to Ayodhya airport from the nation’s capital on December 30 and that commercial operations will start on January 6. On December 8, Jyotiraditya Scindia, the minister of civil aviation, announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram International Airport in Ayodhya, which is expected to be completed by the end of this month.
IndiGo announced in a statement on Wednesday that Ayodhya will be the airline’s 86th domestic destination and that it will be the first carrier to operate out of the airport.
“The inaugural flight from Delhi will arrive in Ayodhya on December 30, 2023. Subsequently, commercial operations for a direct flight will commence between Delhi and Ayodhya from January 6, 2024, followed by tri-weekly flights between Ahmedabad and Ayodhya from January 11, 2024,” and Delhi begins from 10 January 2024 it said.
The additional flights between Delhi and Ahmedabad-Ayodhya, according to IndiGo’s Head of Global Sales Vinay Malhotra, will put Ayodhya on the map of the nation’s aviation destinations.
