SilkAir(Singapore) Private Limited founded in 1976 (as Tradewinds Charters). It is a regional airline with its head office in Airline House in Singapore;previously it was on the fifth storey of the SIA Superhub in Singapore. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Singapore Airlines and operates scheduled passenger services from Singapore to 52 cities in 14 countries in Southeast Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, China and Australia. In April 2017, it will commence flights to Colombo, expanding the network to 53 cities in 15 countries.

I am travelling with family, 6 member, from phuket to singapore and have tried to check in online all day and also tried to get in touch with the reservation office in Phuket , so that we can sit together as a family, on the internet it says to check in at the airport and I know from experience, when you get to the airport seats together are not available. This is unacceptable when you are given the option to check in on line but cannot do so, and is also frustrating when you have chosen a major airline like Singapore airlines and its subsidiary for travel.
