I just returned from Colombo on 15th November flying business class. The staff in Katunayake airport harassed me and told me I was not allowed to take a bottle of honey that I had kept in the hand luggage.Since liquor bottles sold in duty free lounge are allowed to be carried similarly i assumes a bottle of honey would also be allowed in my hand luggage. The staff told me I had to transfer quarter of the bottle into a plastic bottle. The staff made such s fuss about this I nearly missed my flight. I escorted my 85 year old father flying business to Sri Lanka. My father was taken into the flight and seated while I was kept behind because I was carrying a bottle of honey for my daughter who suffers from asthma. I am very angry and so upset the way I was treated. I was so rushed that the bottle oc honey fell on the marble floor and broke. I need to know why you allow glass liquor bottles to be carried but not a bottle of honey. I am a frequent flyer with Sri Lankan Airline. I am very disappointed with the way I was treated flying business class.

My flights to Sri Lanka were cancelled. I tried to ring but ended up with a Ā£60 phone charge given that I hadn’t realised I was linked to Sri Lanka and had to wait for nearly an hour with no reply. I submitted an on-line request for a refund and received an acknowledgement (UL/RR/99025) on 26t March but have heard nothing since> I’ve tried to find a UK number but they all seem to switch through to a Sri Lanka number. Is there a way I can get an answer?
My flight schedule to Srilankan airline was on 25th October. It was cancelled. I have to be in Sri Lanka. My abroad leave already finished. I have informed to Sri Lankan High Commission, UK. I am waiting for emergency flight. Please let me when the will start to Sri Lanka from UK.

I received a voucher from Sri lankan airlines for a cancelled trip due to covid. I was told I can use it to book a new trip. However when i tried so i was asked to redeem the voucher. the message I got was ” will get back within 24 hours”. Now it is almost a week and my flight is due in 2 days. They havent got back to me and no one replies. They are holding my money by means of a voucher. I cant utilise it as no ne is responding.
I have tried ALL the numbers on the website, UK numbers, SL numbers, branch numbers, – it only goes on for a recording for hours. I have tried holding for hours and hours ( 4 hours yesterday out of despoeration), but no one answers. chat service doesnt work. no number to call in an emergency.
all information about contact numbers, emergency contact are false – you can not get through to them.
They are not replying to emails. I have used ” read ” receipts – so I know these have been read. but no one gets back.
The prices are going up whilst waiting.
need to book PCR tests etc now due to covid so cant do it last mint.

they should not have misleading information on the website. If no means of contactig and if it is a complete shut down they should not show all numbers and give false assurance about emergency contact.

I am now stuck with my money. I need to book a tickt but now this means double payments – Money I lost due to SL airlines not redeeming my voucher and holding it + new ticket cost ( of course would not go SL airlines ever again).

the ost dissapointing is the false information and false promises to attract customers – the serivce is no way near what it shows onthe website.
avoid by all means unless you want to lose your money and MIND!
