Who created / founded the Star alliances?
Star Alliance was the first international aviation alliance, created in 1997 by five airlines from the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Jeffrey Goh Ā who is now the CEO of star alliance was responsible for overall strategic direction and growth of Star Alliance .We continue to lead the way in international travel innovation and seamless consumer experiences.
26 airlines currently make up the Star Alliance, each having a unique culture and level of customer care. Alliance participants assemble at more than 50 global hubs to provide seamless connections throughout a leading global network. Airport co-location, digital infrastructure, frequent flyer integration, cooperative business lounge projects, and other services that enhance the travel experience are all coordinated by a management company with offices in Frankfurt, Germany, and Singapore.

How to join Star Alliance/procedure?
You cannot join the Star Alliance directly. Rather, you can join any Star Alliance member’s frequent flyer programme, many programmes, or all of them. You can join by visiting the websites frequent flyer programmes you’re interested in and submitting basic personal and contact information.
There is no Star Alliance Frequent Flyer Program. Instead, each Star Alliance member airline has its own Frequent Flyer Program that operates separately. Although you can enroll in multiple programmes at the same time, you are not required to do so. You will be able to earn and redeem miles or points across all Star Alliance member airlines using a single programme.
What is the cost of joining star alliance?
There is no fees to join star alliance. You can enrol within any Star Alliance frequent flyer programme. Depending on which programme you choose, you may be asked to pay a membership fee for the programme in which you enroll.
