Vancouver and Dubai will now have nonstop direct flights from Air Canada

From October 28, 2023, it will operate four times per week under the designation Flight AC078.

Air Canada has announced a new service to connect the two countries, significantly enhancing nonstop direct connection between Canada and the UAE. Beginning in October 2023, a new aircraft route will connect Dubai (DXB) in the United Arab Emirates with Vancouver (YVR) in Canada.

From October 28, 2023, it will operate four times per week under the designation Flight AC078. The new connection will be Air Canada’s longest trip, traversing more than 6300 nautical miles and taking around 16 hours and 30 minutes to complete on average.

The flights are scheduled to depart YVR on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 9:50 p.m. There will be 298 seats total on the aircraft, including 21 premium economy seats, 30 business class seats, and 247 economy seats. Additionally, tickets are already on sale.

ā€œWe are extremely pleased to add the only non-stop service linking Vancouver and Dubai, two iconic and vibrant global destinations,ā€ said Mark Galardo, Air Canadaā€™s senior vice-president for network planning and revenue management. ā€œIn cooperation with our codeshare and frequent flyer partner Emirates, our Vancouver-Dubai flights will connect to a multitude of destinations across the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and East Africa in Dubai, providing customers with choice and convenience while travelling for business or visiting friends and family,ā€ he added.

Air Canada already offers daily non-stop service between Toronto and Dubai, so the new route will be the second connecting the two nations. It follows an increase in global international travel as COVID-19 border controls loosen.
