am visiting Cape Town South Africa. Since South African Govt concerns about Coronavirus were voiced on 15.3.20 I have been trying to get hold of BA. I have a flight booked with British Airways for 30.3.20, to return to London. I managed to get through to BA once, eventually, and was advised to ring the next day, to talk about bringing my flight forward because of your duty of care, to ensure I could return home. I was told that I could pay to change the date, although a website message seems to say that this should be free for flights until 31.5.20. She suggested that I could speak to staff at the airport office. Since then, BA does not answer the phone and in fact there is no office in the airport in Cape Town for international flights. The kiosk has its shutters down and the woman in the next kiosk said that it is always closed, no one is ever there! The BA domestic flights kiosk workers say that they have nothing to do with international flights. The only thing suggested by airport information was to wait for 3 hours until the check-in desk opened for a flight! A lockdown may be planned in the UK, in which case return travel there may then be impossible. What are you doing as the air carrier responsible, to contact passengers guaranteeing flights into the next weeks, if you are not arranging anything earlier. How can a major airline not even have an office presence for its customers? Help us.
I have tried for 6 working days on telephone for 3 hours with no reply to Executive Club
I have tried to get through to the executive club bookings in Johannesburg, I have no option but to contact you directly
and ask for help please would you be kind enough to get involved I have to get to London as my 99 year old mother who by the way was with BA at
your offices, is in terrible trouble but what irks me is why the chap who did the booking kept lying to me and giving me wrong information told me these were the last 2 seats for weeks and I must take them for 23 February. I contacted the British Consulate who bollocks me despite giving them a letter from Camden Council Care to assist with the visa
I have a problem with Dingdong Ho visa for the UK plus I am fuming with the chap who did the booking for giving me miss information I wanted
24th or 25th but he said no only 23rd also I asked about a later flight on Qatar airways yes there is a later flight QR1363 so why did he not tell me this?
Due to visa problem I think I must change the outgoing flight to the 25th February and if you can change Qatar to 9th flight QR1363 I would
appreciate it. I tried to do this on manage my booking and it through me out telling me I must contact Executive Club by telephone
Please advise urgently
Thanking you
