China Airlines – CoronaVirus (nCoVid 19) Travel updates

Due to the novel CoronaVirus (nCoVid 19), many countries restricted the travel. Update your contact details via Manage booking to receive the latest updates or notifications regarding coronavirus or any updates in China airlines. Customers can also check the website for the latest flight updates, rebooking and refund options.

China Airlines have been suspended to the following destinations (as of 16 March 2020) due to CoronaVirus (nCoVid 19)

China Airlines have been suspended to Europe due to CoronaVirus (nCoVid 19)

1. Eligibility: Passengers holding CI/AE valid tickets issued on/before 13MAR20 with confirmed bookings on CI/AE flights to/from Europe between 07MAR20-30APR20.
2. Application Date: Must file applications on/before 30APR20.
3. Rebooking/Reissue/Reroute:
   a. Tickets within validity can be revalidated with booking class/Carrier/City shown on tickets remain unchanged while rebooking on other dates of CI/AE operated flights. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking shall be waived once.
   b. Tickets to/from Europe can be changed to any CI/AE operating flight to/from Europe including the code share flight to/from Amsterdam with booking class shown on the ticket remain unchanged. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking shall be waived once.
   c. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking on different booking class /rerouting shall be paid by passengers under item b. and the reissue charge shall be waived once while rearrangement to other airlines are not permitted.
4. Refund: Full refund for unused tickets without imposing any refund service charge or penalty. (Tickets issued via CI website, call centers and branch offices can apply for refund online after 17Mar20.) Payments of chargeable seats, pre-paid excess baggage can be full refunded.
5. Not applicable:
   a. Passengers holding other airline tickets shall comply with other airline’s ticket rule.
   b. Discount tickets are not applicable for the principles. Group tickets please contact your agency.

China Airlines have been suspended to / from Singapore, Japan, USA due to CoronaVirus (nCoVid 19)

1. Eligibility: Passengers holding CI/AE valid tickets with confirmed bookings on CI/AE flights to/from/via Singapore/ Japan/ USA which operate normally, and ticket issue date and travel date within the date range below:
   a. Tickets issued on/before 24FEB20 to/from/via Singapore and original travel date between 11FEB20-30APR20
   b. Tickets issued on/before 24FEB20 to/from Japan and original travel date between 22FEB20-30APR20
   c. Tickets issued on/before 13MAR20 to/from USA and original travel date between 14MAR20-30APR20
2. Application Date: Must file applications on/before 30APR20.
3. Rebooking/Reissue/Reroute:
   a. Any fare/tax differences incurred by new itineraries shall be paid by passengers while the reissue charge can be waived once.
   b. Ticket issued via CI website please contact China Airlines branch offices or Call Centers to change booking.
4. Refund: Refund penalty will be charged according to original ticketing rule.
5. Not applicable:
   a. Passengers holding other airlines’ tickets shall comply with other airlines’ ticket rule.
   b. Discount tickets are not applicable for the principles. Group tickets please contact your agency.

1. Eligibility: Passengers holding CI/AE valid tickets issued on/before 24FEB20 with confirmed bookings on CI/AE flights to/from Korea on 24FEB20-30APR20.
2. Application Date: Must file applications on/before 30APR20.
3. Rebooking/Reissue/Reroute:
   a. Tickets within validity can be revalidated with booking class/Carrier/city shown on tickets remain unchanged while rebooking on other date of CI/AE operating flights. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking shall be waived once.
   b. Tickets to/from Korea can be changed to any CI/AE operating flight to/from Korea with booking class shown on the ticket remained unchanged. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking shall be waived once.
   c. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking on different booking class /rerouting shall be paid by passengers and the reissue charge shall be waived once while rearrangement to other airlines are not permitted.
   d. Ticket issued on CI website please contact branch office or Call Center to change booking.
4. Refund: Full refund for unused tickets without imposing any refund service charge or penalty. Payments of chargeable seats, pre-paid excess baggage can be full refund.
5. Not applicable:

1. Eligibility:
   CI/AE valid tickets issued on/before 08FEB20 with confirmed bookings on those CI/AE flights to/from China or Hong Kong between 20JAN20-30APR20.
2. Application Date: Must file applications on/before 30APR20.
3. Rebooking/Reissue/Rerouting:
   a. Tickets within validity can be revalidated with booking class/Carrier/City shown on tickets remain unchanged while rebooking on other date of CI/AE operating flights. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking shall be waived once.
   b. Tickets to/from Mainland China can be changed to any CI/AE operating flight to/from Mainland China or Hong Kong with booking class shown on the ticket remain unchanged. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking shall be waived once.
   c. Tickets to/from Hong Kong only can be changed to other CI/AE operating flights to/from Hong Kong with booking class shown on the ticket remain unchanged. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking shall be waived once.
   d. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking on different booking class /rerouting shall be paid by passengers and the reissue charge shall be waived once while rearrangement to other airlines are not permitted.
   e. Ticket issued on CI website please contact branch office or Call Center to change booking.

China Airlines have been suspended to Philippines – Manila, Cebu due to CoronaVirus (nCoVid 19)

Ticketing handling Guideline of CI/AE operated flights to/from Manila/Cebu, due to the fact that Philippine government has decided to lift its travel ban against Taiwan

1. Eligibility: Passengers holding CI/AE valid tickets issued on/before 11FEB20 with confirmed bookings on CI/AE flights to/from Manila between 11FEB20-20FEB20 or to/from Cebu between 29MAR20-11JUN20.
2. Application Date:
   to/from Manila: Must file applications on/before 20FEB20.
   to/from Cebu: Must file applications on/before 30APR20.
3. Rebooking/Reissue/Reroute:
   a. Tickets within validity can be revalidated with booking class/Carrier/airport shown on tickets remain unchanged on CI/AE operating flights. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking shall be waived once. Passenger to/from Manila matched the Eligibility above, if the tickets validity are going to expired, the whole ticket can be extended to 31MAY20 and ticket handling must be complied with the guideline.
   b. If the passenger changed the booking to CI703/704 because of the previous travel ban, it allows to rebook on the same booking class of the original flights(TPE-MNL CI701/702 or KHH-MNL CI711/712) without collecting fare/tax differences and reissue charge only once.
   c. Any fare/tax differences incurred by rebooking on different booking class /rerouting shall be paid by passengers and the reissue charge shall be waived once while rearrangement to other airlines are not permitted.
   d. Ticket issued on CI website please contact branch office or Call Center to change booking.
4. Refund: Full refund for unused tickets without imposing any refund service charge or penalty. Payments of chargeable seats, pre-paid excess baggage can be full refund. (Tickets issued on CI website can be refunded via “Refund Ticket” portal)
5. Not applicable:
