    Onderwerp: Booking ref. TEU8NM – Ticket nĀ°217 2330488289

    Geachte mevrouw , mijnheer

zorgen over.

    dank u vriendelijk

Subject: Urgent – Reply ASAP – Help Needed
    To:

URGENT – Please respond with a solution immediately or we will take legal action.

    To whom it may concern,

My name is Tanawan Rogers (also known as Charlotte Tanawan Ailsa Rogers) and I am a Thai national with Thai-British dual citizenship – please find my passports attached. My partner, Florian Mawi Ehret, and I have spoken with your colleagues at the 24 hour Contact Center (+6623561111) who have advised me that my case has been shared with you and I need to email you.

My partner and I purchased flight tickets from Thai Airways to depart from London (1st January, 2022) to Bangkok to arrive for our pre-approved Test and Go package (see attached). We submitted our Thailand Pass application on the 21st of December and received our application approval confirmation on December 22nd (attached email confirmation), before the government changed the rules. The documents were reviewed in Heathrow by the check in staff who cleared us to board our flight from Heathrow to Brussels for our transit without any issues. When trying to board our connecting flight in Brussels, the Thai Airways staff wrongly refused to let us board. As you can see in documents enclosed on this email, all of our paperwork is correct and in line with the Thailand Pass regulations, Thailand Consulate regulations, and Thai Airways travel rules (see attached screenshots of the FAQs from their websites for reference).

We were not given valid reason to not board the flight based on all our documentation. After we were denied, I contacted the Thai Airways contact centre and spoke to Tadaphat Wongsuwan who confirmed that the Thai airways staff, according to my paperwork, should have let me board the plane. There was no reason she could see as to why they would not let me board. I have also been in contact with the Thailand Pass team (+6625728442) who have also confirmed that, according to my Thailand Covid Pass for Test and Go being approved before the scheme ended on December 22nd 2021, and medical records (2 full covid vaccinations, Doctor’s letter to show recovery from covid, and covid recovery certificate), there was no reason for the Thai Airways staff at the gate to deny me boarding the flight. We have not received any support or solution from Thai Airways to arrange another flight for us to make it to Bangkok before our Thailand Covid Pass expired. We have also not been offered support for accommodation while we are stuck in Brussels, nor were we offered flights to go back to London. This is unacceptable and shameful for a national airline such as Thai Airways.

Today, on January 2nd, 2022, my partner and I have been in contact with multiple people at the Thai Airways Contact Centre, but we kept getting cut off everytime we were put on hold to consult on our case after our explanation (4 different times). The latest contact we had (name Patarasuda) did not put us on hold (at our request for concern of being cut off), and we have explained our case to her. She has confirmed that she has made a note of our situation on the “P and R” system with our ticket booking reference: 6XO5A5. Please refer to this for a history of our conversation. Patarasuda advised that we return back to London and claim our expenses with the team in this email.

This entire situation, at the fault of Thai Airways’ staff, is causing me and my partner severe emotional and psychological stress. It has been three years since I have been able to see my family in Thailand and my father’s health is declining. As a Thai national, I should not have been denied access home when all my paperwork and travel documents were in line with all the regulations from the relevant authorities.

Additionally, we are incurring significant financial losses due to having to arrange emergency accommodation in Brussels, emergency transportation out of Brussels back to London and the expenses required to support this process (food, travel documents such as new covid tests required for travel from Brussels to London). According to Thai Airways’ rules and regulations, a situation of this nature where a passenger has wrongly been denied boarding, Thai Airways should have been able to provide support in arranging the emergency accommodation or travel needed.

I would like to reiterate the urgency of this situation and request feedback from Thai Airways as soon as possible.

Tw solutions are the minimum for we expect to be granted by Thai Airways:

    1. Full refund of our flight tickets.
    2. Full compensation for the resulting emergency expenses incurred in Brussels as mentioned above.
    3. A gesture from Thai Airways for the emotional, psychological and financial stress this has caused us.

Please find me and my partner’s details below and the mentioned supporting documents attached.

Your urgent support and solution in this matter is greatly appreciated.

    Regards,
    Tanawan Rogers

More than 3 years ago I booked a flight with this airline to Bangkok. The flight was cancelled and I still have not been refunded after 3 years. 3 years!!! I fully understand the situation they have been in, but now I am getting impatient. I have been told by friends that they booked a flight to Bangkok in March 2020, this flight was scheduled for several months later and was also cancelled. They did get their tickets refunded immediately even though their booking was later! People who booked later and got their money back earlier while I have to wait 3 years for this, this is not normal! This is not acceptable anymore! And waiting this 3 years without getting any further information from them. Very unprofessional!
