I recently flew into Madrid with Alitalia, and my baggage was damaged. I have been struggling to get contact details for South Africa so I can raise a claim for a refund on my luggage as the luggage was brand new, and having a discount on my ticket would not serve the purpose as I travel a lot and I need my luggage back. We are scheduled to fly to Italy in 3 days, and even though the country has been quarantined, Alitalia refuses to refund us our tickets or move the dates. There is no way of contacting them and calling the customer support just leaves you on hold for an hour! We are desperately trying to change our flight with no assistance from GoToGate or Alitalia!! This is absolutely unacceptable!

With regards to COVID-19 and international flights, I would like to know how I go about requesting a refund as it does not look like I will be able to fly out of South Africa due to our peaking of the virus in August/September.
Our VISA agencies are not open and not sure when in our lockdown they will be able to open.

Received an email cancelling a flight I had booked from Rome to Johannesburg instructing me to call to receive a refund. Have tried calling numerous times without success. No email addresses have been supplied anyway so i’m at a loss as to how to contact you.

Alitalia, issued my ticket incorrectly and wont change the date and wont refund, the call centre agent said he cant do it from his side at customer service and that i should just take the loss of my money with them and leave it. Worst customer service ever.
We booked through Travelstart and our REF: ZA07710571.
We have aske them on several occasions for vouchers to fly when it is open again.
Travelstart only replies with: We have to wait to hear from Alitalia.
Could you possibly assist from Alitalia direct to give us vouchers?

We had flights booked last year, that were cancelled due to Covid. Vouchers were issued that expire on 24 April 2021. But, Alitalia is still not flying to/from South Africa. Will these vouchers be extended?
