      Dear Agent,

      I am finding it impossible to reach your office in order to reschedule my return flight from Kolkata to Vancouver. I am currently scheduled to return to Canada Mar. 21, flight # 556 @12:30 a.m. from Kolkata to Kumming, then flight # 215 @9:30 a.m. from Kumming to Vancouver.

      Due to a medical problem I can only leave India on or around April 18. Can this be arranged, and if so, what service fees are involved. Your prompt reply will be appreciated.

      One baggage of mine was not loaded on flight no,MU5738 from Guangzhou to kunming on 23/03/17.I reported this matter at kunming airport and was given a receipt and was told that airline representative at calcutta will contact me on arrival of my baggage,Today I went to calcutta airport and duty manager gave me chaina estern airlines representative no, was I am trying since morning without any reply.Please inform me as to when and from where I can collect my baggage.My cell no. is 9433013551

      Like everything else about CEA, letter to manager of CEA office in Vancouver was ignored. Added to this comment is a copy of said letter. I believe it’s self explanatory. Also, that it reflects on the poor service that seems to be endemic to CEA.

      Dear Sir,

      On January 10, 2017 I flew CEA from Vancouver to Kolkata (#598/5463/555) to be treated for extensive dental work in India. While there I learned that I required a further month in India for the main treatment to be consummated. In Canada it cost $3,300. In India, it’s $300. As such, it was vital that I obtain an extension on my ticket back to Canada (#556/215), dated March 21, 2017. For two months every effort to get any answer from CEA was either ignored or diverted. As a result, I was obliged to return to Canada before that procedure was completed.

      Multiple emails were ignored. I diverted my travel, and wasted a day in Bangalore at the office of the CEA agent (as per the internet), who was not your agent. He phoned the CEA line, was diverted to Delhi, who diverted to Kolkata (their problem), whose manager (name available) was too busy to reply, but gave detailed instructions and a false email address. Next, I emailed a CEA site designed to “explain your problem, and we will have the right person get back to you”. Never happened. I again phoned, and spelled out my email address so a second manager (name available) could mail me. I could then, with assurance, reach her. Despite my note of urgency, she never bothered to do so.

      In emails and verbal conversation I always made it clear that for the purposes of dental work and my travel plans I must know if I could extend my ticket. A simple yes or no. A matter of seconds. Never happened. Instead, minutes were spent diverting me to emails that were ignored. As a result, I will face punishing dental costs to complete the work in Canada. Being subject to the constant tension, frustration, and annoyances of being ignored for months affected my health. And because of time restrictions I froze my vacation travel to a part of India in which I had no interest.

      I finally got my answer from Mr. Sumit Bose, the head of CEA in Kolkata airport. Yes, I could extend, even on a discounted ticket, if I made the request 4 + hours before departure. As my ticket itinerary lacked my name and a number, I was not allowed inside the airport for 45 minutes, until a CEA agent took my passport and identified me as a legitimate passenger. That left 3 1/2 hours before departure.

      CEA demonstrated an incomprehensible blanket indifference towards customer service. Despite the cost savings on my ticket, this is not an airline I can recommend. I am writing a letter (not an email) to you in a final attempt to reach someone who listens, take client concerns seriously, understand repercussions, past and future, and responds.

      I claimed a complaint regarding my missing of my baggage on 17 july 2018.they told i will get my baggage within 7 days.but they are not at all taking any responsibilties regarding this.i hope i ll get information by keeping this comment

      I was travelling from Kunming to Kolkata on 9th November 2019 which was cancelled due to bad weather in kolkata and rescheduled next day on 10th November 2019. For this I need a letter from China Easter side stating the cause of flight cancellation.
