Beginning in December, two direct flights from Brazil to Miami have been announced by the Brazilian airline GOL Linhas Aéreas. Both of these services have resumed after a two-year hiatus caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, with one service being a new route.
The New route
Beginning on December 17, GOL will start operating flights between Miami International Airport and Manaus International Airport (MAO) (MIA). With two weekly frequencies, the airline will offer service between the largest city and state capital of Brazil’s Amazonas state and the US.
Due to GOL’s cooperation with American Airlines, customers from the Amazonas states will be able to rapidly connect in Miami to several US destinations.
The nonstop flight will run on Wednesdays and Saturdays for duration of 5:55 hours. At 12:30 local time, flight G3 7638 departs from Amazonas’ capital and arrives in Miami at 17:25. The return flight (flight G3 7639), which is scheduled to land in Manaus at 1:55 the following day, takes off at 19:00.
The population of northern Brazil is the target audience for this route. Currently, GOL offers flights from Brasilia to Miami and Orlando.
GOL is decentralizing its flights to Miami by establishing this new route, which will improve travel between the United States and the Amazonas State. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, which has a seating capacity of 176 passengers, will be used to fly the service for GOL.
The alternate/resume route
GOL will commence a different service to Miami from Fortaleza International Airport a few days prior to the start of the new route between Manaus and Miami (FOR). The Brazilian airline will start operating a single weekly round-trip service between the two cities on December 3.
The COVID-19 epidemic abruptly halted the previously scheduled operation of this route, which ran from November 2018 to the beginning of 2020. Flight G3 7904 will provide the service on Saturdays, departing Fortaleza at 11:00 and landing in Miami at 16:50. G3 7733 will take off from Miami at 21:50 and arrive in Fortaleza at 6:55 the following morning.
The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft owned by GOL will fly the route. “The restart of the Fortaleza-Miami route shows that international travel is on the rise and gives travellers from the Brazilian State of Ceará, where Fortaleza is located, more possibilities. We are really happy with this relationship because it will provide customers with the best airport infrastructure and experience “says Sabine Trenk, FOR administrator and director of commercial and operational activities at Fraport Brazil.
