How can Global Entry, NEXUS, or SENTRI members retrieve their KTN?
Using Trusted Traveler Program at Trusted Traveler Program, Global Entry, NEXUS or SENTRI members can retrieve their PASSID (which serves as the KTN).
Global Entry members: Find the KTN (also referred to as “PASSID”) is printed on the back of the Global Entry card.
Nexus members: You may refer NEXUS Card, where PASSID printed on front of the card.
SENTRI members: Your KTN (PASSID) is printed on the front of your SENTRI card. Look for the number labeled as PASSID on the card.

When will HME holders become eligible for TSA PreCheckTM expedited screening?
On April 15, 2020, active HME holders who are eligible for TSA PreCheck began receiving this eligibility for expedited screening. (Note: Due to priorities associated with the COVID-19 National Emergency, TSA postponed marketing for this new capability until
June 2020.)
I am both a TSA PreCheckTM Application Program member and active HME holder. Should I use my KTN or State Abbreviation + CDL Number for my airline reservation?
Both your KTN and State Abbreviation + CDL Number are valid to obtain TSA PreCheck eligibility. You may enter either the TSA PreCheck KTN or State Abbreviation + CDL Number into your airline reservation.
How much does it cost to add TSA PreCheck eligibility to my HME enrollment?
There is no additional cost to eligible HME holders for TSA PreCheck. Where eligible, TSA PreCheck expedited screening is included with the HME enrollment.
How can TWIC® members find KTN (Known Traveler Number)?

Where can I find the Credential Identification Number (CIN) on my TWIC®?
- The CIN is printed on the back of each TWIC® card on the left side under the 1D barcode. The CIN is also printed on the lower left-hand corner of the card mailing that you received with your TWIC® card.
Can I use my TWIC® card to enter the TSA PreCheckTM lane at the airport?
- To enter the TSA PreCheck lane, you must present a valid boarding pass with a TSA PreCheck indicator printed on the boarding pass. If you do not have a valid boarding pass with the TSA PreCheck indicator printed on your boarding pass, you may not access the TSA PreCheck lane. Your TWIC® can continue to serve as valid checkpoint identification.
Can I look up my TWIC® CIN online?
- No. The CIN printed on back of the TWIC® card on the left side under the 1D barcode.
Do I need to apply for TSA PreCheckTM separate from my TWIC® enrollment?
- No. Active TWIC® cardholders who meet the TSA PreCheck Application Program’s eligibility requirements will be eligible for TSA PreCheck without a separate enrollment in the TSA PreCheck Application Program.
How DoD members find KTN (Known Traveler Number)?
Will DTS prompt me to enter a Known Traveler Number when making a reservation?
When making an airline reservation in DTS, users prompted to verify their TSA Secure Flight information, which contains a field for the Known Traveler Number. Save time by entering your DoD ID Number as your Known Traveler Number in your DTS profile before making a reservation.
Is it safe to use my DoD ID Number on travel websites and save in my DTS profile?
Yes. The use of the DoD ID Number in travel reservations and DTS profiles related to the TSA PreCheck program has been approved by the Department of Defense. Although the DoD ID Number is considered “low risk” Personally Identifiable Information (PII), DoD and TSA have taken steps to safeguard this information and specifically prohibit sharing this data with third party entities.
