Dear Korean Air,
I would like to file serious complain regarding your procedure in check in counter on Sydney Airport, Australia.
I bought korean air ticket for my daughter, to travel from Sydney australia to Tokyo to visit us, through Korean air website, using my husband card.
The ittinerary detail is as follow :
Name of passenger : Syaikha Ulayya
Booking ref. : SQ8BNJ
Issued : 9 Jan 2019
Depart : 1 Feb 2019 Sydney – Tokyo (haneda)
Return : 20 Feb 2019 Tokyo (Narita) – Sydney
Price : AUD1,130
Method of payment : card, under my husband’s name, Heldiansyah
The ticket was already PAID using my husband card and issued, however during check in time, my daughter was asked to provide the card detail used to buy the ticket, which is my husband’s card. She tried to contact us from check in counter at 7AM, however the time difference between Tokyo and Sydney is 2 hrs behind.
Hence she was asked to PAY again the (paid already)ticket price, full price. Otherwise she couldnt board to plane. She was explained by the check in officer that it can be refunded later.
This is a very inconvenient and distressing procedure for customers, especially for a student like my daughter, who might not have enough in their card for air ticket price. It can cause loss in time value of money from customer side, as well as opening possibility for double payment for customers.
Please kindly advise me how to get the ticket’s second payment refunded and how fast we can get it back to our account.
This bad experience has made us re-think to use and recommend Korean Air in the future.
