    Dear Jennifer Jung,

I am a French teacher leaving in Seoul and just coming back from Paris (KE 902).
As the Passenger Marketing Manager, you might appreciate this feedback…

I was supposed to travel in economy class but was surprisingly ‘sent’ to your Prestige class.
I have a comment regarding one annoucement made in French when landing.

I was in charge of the ultimate proofreading of a brochure designed by the Korean Olympic Committee in its bid for the organization of Pyeongchang 2018 ; so, I am sensitive to things said regarding that event ; the announcement made by Korean Air asserts that Korea/Pyeongchang organizes the PARALYMPIC GAMES…

Even if it is a true fact, is it what you want to put forward : the paralympic games (instead of the OLYMPIC GAMES) ?

    Well, that’s all…
(on this matter I mean… on other issues, like the mediocrity of meals for example, I guess I will have the opportunity to participate to a survey on line)

    Sincerely,
    Loic Madec

ATTN: Corporate Counsel Robin Choi. I have for several hours been trying to reach corporate counsel Robin Choi, whose contact information is not listed with the California State Bar. KA is an international carrier with corporate offices in the USA and is thus subject to providing reasonable accommodations to passengers under the ADA. My wife and her younger brother flew KA to the Philippines for the funeral of their mother. The younger brother is Down Syndrome and has numerous health related disabilities. They were scheduled to fly out of Manila on 1/12 but prior to departure a volcano erupted 45 miles south of Manila, causing the flight to be delayed. Because of the “delay” status, they were not allowed to re-book, while other passengers on later flights designated “cancelled” were allowed to re-book. By the time they were allowed to re-book, all flights were booked through 1/19. KA is not providing accommodations for them to fly out any sooner than 1/19 and possibly 1/24. Her brother is now out of his medications and is having difficulty breathing. He needs special assistance on a day-to-day basis that my wife is not able to provide. His health is deteriorating and he may need hospitalization if he is not flown back to California soon. Yet KA is making no effort to accommodate him and get my wife and her brother on an earlier flight. It is completely unacceptable that KA is making them wait up to 2 weeks for a flight out of Manila. While a volcano is not the fault of the airline, the airline should be making every effort to make sure passengers get back home within a reasonable period of time. KA’s refusal to provide reasonable accommodation in this instance constitutes a violation of the ADA. This message is intended to put KA on notice that unless my wife and her brother are given some accommodation for an earlier departure, I will be pursuing a claim against the airline, including recovery of attorney’s fees.
