Norse Atlantic Airways is a Norwegian low-cost, long-haul airline headquartered in Arendal, Norway. Founded in February 2021, the airline operates a fleet of Boeing 787 aircraft between Europe and North America. Its inaugural flight took place on 14 June 2022, from Oslo Airport, Gardermoen, to New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Guidelines for Hand Baggage on Flights
- Excessive hand baggage incurs baggage charge.
- One shopping bag can be added to ticket type allowance.
- Alcoholic drinks cannot be opened or consumed onboard.
- Important items like medicine, baby items, and valuables should be packed in underseat bag.
- Certain items are not allowed in hand baggage.
- Gift boxes or mini boards can be used, but must not exceed hand baggage limits.
- Infant tickets without a seat have no hand baggage allowance, but can bring baby food and milk/formula.
Norse Atlantic Airways Checked Baggage Allowance
You can add checked baggage to an existing booking up until 4 hours before departure. You’ll have to pay extra fee for that. Special baggage (sports equipment, bulky baggage etc.) cannot be ordered as checked baggage and must be purchased for the appropriate fees.

Terms and Conditions for Checked Baggage
- Baggage charges are non-refundable and non-transferable.
- Each bag must not more than 32kg / 70lbs or less than 2kg / 4lbs.
- Total checked bags cannot exceed 9 pieces.
- Baggage pooling/sharing is allowed in the same booking.
- Standard checked baggage dimensions should not exceed 158cm (height + width + length).
- Bags should not exceed 250x79x112 cm (L x H x W) with maximum circumference 300cm / 118in.
- Pre-notification is not required for bulky baggage or sporting equipment.
- For items exceeding 250cm, contact the Customer Care Team 48 hours in advance.
Bulky baggage
Bulky baggage is any other item of checked baggage that exceeds the dimensions of 158cm / 62in (height + width + length). It must be within 23kg / 50lbs otherwise excess baggage charges will apply as per the service fees.
Exemption of bulky baggage charges: Strollers, car seats, assistive devices and medical equipment
Conditions:
- Check your bulky baggage size.
- Excess weight is charged in 1kg / 2lbs increments, per leg.
- Each bag must not exceed 32kg / 70lbs or less 2kg / 4 lbs.
- Gear dimensions should not exceed 250 x 79 x 112 cm / 98 x 31 x 44 in (L x H x W), circumference 300cm / 118in.
- From 30 Oct 2022 no bag must exceed total dimensions 320cm / 126in (L+W+H).
- Pre-notification will not be required for bulky baggage or sporting equipment not exceeding total dimensions 250cm / 98in (L+W+H).
- For exceeding items, passenger will need to contact the Customer Care Team no more than 48 hours in advance for acceptance.
- All special, bulky and overweight baggage charges are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Norse Atlantic Airways Excess Baggage Allowance
- Excess baggage charges also apply when you exceed your checked baggage allowance either by weight or number of pieces or both.
- Excess weight is charged in 1kg / 2lbs increments per leg.
- For an additional bag you’ve to pay fee at the airport.

What baggage allowance are required for an Infants in Norse Atlantic Airways?
Age Limit: Infants (under 2 years)
Free on Bookings: 1 car seat and 1 stroller
Strollers can checked in or used up till the boarding gate, when they’ll put in the hold. After landing, it ‘ll ready outside the aircraft doors wherever possible. In some destinations, you may have to pick it up at the baggage hall due to local customs restrictions.
Note: Children aged 2 and over not permitted to use an Infant car seat onboard

If you’ve booked a seat for your infant (instead of travelling on your lap) they can sit in their car seat. The airline allow equipment that certified by international aviation regulators (the EASA and FAA) such as infant car seats used onboard. Other types of comfort seating aids for children won’t allowed.

How to carry Musical instrument on Norse Atlantic Airways baggage, Size, Weight?
You can take your small musical instrument as hand baggage on board. If it exceeds, there will be a fare type. If you need to carry large instrument (violin or viola), can bring instead of Carry-on bag. The size must not exceed 90 x 35 x 20 cm / 35 x 13 x 7 in and the carry-on weight limit for your fare type. You can arrive at the gate early for boarding to ensure there’s space in the overhead compartments. If there isn’t adequate room, your instrument may have to be checked into the cargo hold.
Book a seat for your instrument
If your instrument is bigger than 90 x 35 x 20 cm / 35 x 13 x 7 then you’ve to travel in the cabin. You must book a separate seat for this (maximum size 140 x 46 x 30 cm / 55 x 18 x 11 in). Instruments in this size range may include guitars and cellos. The booking for both you and your instrument has to be made through our Contact Centre at least 48 hours before departure.
Instruments in the cargo hold
Maximum weight: 23kg.
Pack all the checked instruments into the cargo with hard case. Your instrument must not exceed 250 x 79 x 112 cm / 98 x 31 x 44 in (L x H x W) with maximum circumference 300cm / 118in. No bag must exceed total dimensions 320cm / 126in (L+W+H). Pre-notification will not be required for any items of bulky baggage or sporting equipment not exceeding total dimensions 250cm / 98in (L+W+H). For items exceeding total dimensions 250cm / 98in (L+W+H), the passenger will need to contact the Customer Care Team no more than 48 hours in advance for acceptance.
Double bass
Book your double bass at least 48 hours before you fly. There’s no size limit for double basses, but we’ve only got room for 2 per flight. You’ll asked to pay the musical instrument charge

Packing requirements
- Label your bags with your name and phone number.
- Remove all barcode stickers from previous flights, or we will not accept liability for lost luggage.
- Pack carefully so things inside your baggage don’t move around or fall out.
- Take out travel insurance for valuable or fragile items.
- Leave out any restricted items and dangerous goods.
- Use a protective case.

Delayed baggage at Norse Atlantic Airways
If you don’t receive your baggage upon arrival, you may contact the airline Baggage Service Agents. You will give a file reference number, when the Property Irregularity Report (PIR) has been created. it help to trace your baggage and contact when it’s found to arrange for delivery. You can also create a report, manage and track your delayed bag on our Self-Service portal.

How to replace any items in Norse Atlantic Air?
Travellers are advised to contact your travel insurance company for reimbursement of your immediate expenses as our liability, like other airline companies, limited by the Montreal Convention. The airline reimburse you for reasonable, verifiable, and actual incidental expenses like basic clothing and toiletries towards valid itemized receipts.
Email: baggage@flynorse.com within 21 days after receiving your bag if you want to submit a claim for your immediate expenses.
If the baggage is unable to locate within 21 days, you can make a claim for the bag and the content inside. You must submit your claim as soon as possible after the bag determined lost.
Damaged baggage
For any damaged bag, please contact the airline Baggage service agents at the airport. They inspect visually and document that the damage happened. you’ve to produce a file reference number for the Property Irregularity Report (PIR) that we require to process your claim.
Baggage with cosmetic or minor damage like marks, ripped labels and dents that do not affect the structure of the bag not accepted as a claim. This is considered normal wear and tear related to the handling of the baggage during the flight and in transit at the airport. We not accept liability for the damage and/or loss of articles if the baggage unsuitably packed or protected.
