Tiger Airways Australia Pty Ltd, operating as Tigerair Australia, is an Australian low-cost airline. It commenced services in the Australian domestic airline market on 23 November 2007 as Tiger Airways Australia. It is a fully owned subsidiary of Virgin Australia Holdings.[5] The airline is based in Melbourne, Victoria, with its main base at Melbourne Airport. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia (CASA) grounded the airline in 2011; as a result operating bases at Adelaide and Avalon were shut down and it initially only operated out of its Melbourne base after returning to the air. On 7 March 2012, Tigerair announced the reopening of a second base at Sydney Airport.

Single and Multiple Pregnancy for flights less than 4 hoursĀ in Tigerair

Expectant mothers can travel in Tigerair up to 40 weeks for single pregnancy and 36 weeks for multiple pregnancy.

For single pregnancy, no medical certificate is required for expectant mothers who travel from 0 to 27 weeks and a medical certificate is required who travel from 28 to 40 weeks.

For multiple pregnancy, no medical certificate is required for expectant mothers who travel from 0 to 27 weeks and a medical certificate is required who travel from 28 to 36 weeks.

    You cancelled my son’s flight back from Gold Coast last Sunday and you couldn’t get him on another flight for three days. Your fault – not his. He had to buy a one-way ticket with another airline that cost him more than the return Tigerair fare. Now you won’t compensate him for his return flight. What a pack of thieves. You should be deregistered and sent packing.

    We had return flights booked Melbourne to Hobart with Tiger – 6.15pm flight on 27 Feb. and return 9.10am
    4 March. You cancelled our flight to Hobart on 27 Feb. and said we could travel on the next day in the very early morning around 7.30am. Coming from the country ( approx. 200 km from Melbourne airport )there is no public transport available to get us to the airport in time to book- in on this day.We would therefore be forced to stay overnight in Melbourne on the day prior. An expense that we as pensioners can ill- afford. We had also made arrangements to be met at the 6.15pm flight , the time to suit our transport. We therefore had to fly with Jetstar to “fit in ” with times.
    We accept that you can cancel flights but what we do not accept is we were not fully reimbursed for our flight to Hobart.We had paid $292.00 for our returns flights and so believe that we should have been refunded half the fare – $146.00 In addition we expect that we would also be re-imbursed the $26.00 ,the difference between Tiger and what we had to pay for our Jetstar flight to fit in with our arrangements.. We were distressed that we had to alter arrangements, and considering that YOU CANCELLED THE FLIGHT and we did not cancel our booking, the onus is on Tiger to “make things right”.
    We expect a re-imbursement of $172.00 , being the cost of our flight to Hobart with you ($146.00), PLUS $26.00 – the extra it cost us to change our flight to Jetstar ( Booking reference VN8RSX on flight JQ713 ), We have flown with Tiger on many occasions and have defended you to others .We would be satisfied if you would credit us with the outstanding amount or a free open flight for two to Hobart within the next 12 months . We do not want to take this matter further and refer it to the ombudsman , but we will if necessary.

    Dear Tiger Air,

    I received the following email asking for a confirmation of our bank account for a refund. I was a little uncertain if it was genuine, as when I read it the English was not accurate in some places, so I wanted to get confirmation from you that your staff were the ones who sent it out. I am very wary of email scams.

    Once you are able to confirm that the email is from one of your staff, I will send confirmation of my bank details so that I can receive the refund that is owing to me.

    Hello Tigerair,

    I have booked a return flight from Melbourne to sydney and sydney to Melbourne on the same day on 17-06-2019. In morning the flight was 1 hour late from Melbourne to Sydney. I was having my lectures in Sydney just because of the delay in flight i got late for my lectures and on the same day i was having the return from sydney to Melbourne at 6:45 pm i have arrived the airport at 6.05pm and the check-ins were closed the staff said that now you have to book for a new flight you cannot go in this flight as gates are closed and i have paid 85$ for the new booking.

    I was just 5 minutes late and tigerair charged for the new flight. I have scheduled my flight according to my lectures but Tigerair spoiled all and charged me for the new flight also. I got late to enter aiport just because i was late in the morning for my lecture and they havenā€™t allowed me to leave earlier as i was late in the morning. I just want the refund for my flight that i have booked again. My booking reference was 9728891141 and PYUR9Q

    Cancellation for the Flight Cancellation on August 9 (boarding at 5:20 PM, from Sydney to Melbourne / TT263)

    Hello Tigerair,

    I booked a Tigerair flight that was supposed to be boarding on August 9, at 5:20 PM, from Sydney to Melbourne (flight number TT263). However, after several delays, the flight was cancelled due to the weather and engineering issue. Because of Tigerair’s late and irresponsible cancellation, I missed a hotel I booked in Melbourne on August 9 and a flight on August 10 from Melbourne to China. Moreover, I had to book another hotel in Sydney for one more night.If Tigerair had informed me about the cancellation earlier, I would have been able to book another flight to Melbourne. I claim a compensation for this one-night hotel fee caused by Tigerair’s late cancellation. I will wait for your fast reply.

    We are yet to receive any response to our 18th Oct 2019 Claim for re-reimbursement for the atrocious actions you took against my wife and I for totally unjustified ‘reasons’ in not allowing to board our 4th Oct 2019 flight. ( Adel to Melb ) Despite careful searching and perusal, and after the Claim, I am unable to even find a suitable email address for Tigerair ! As mentioned in our Claim, unless we receive the proper compensation sought ( additional unbudgeted costs, including for the medical attention needed directly because of your actions ) before November 30th, we will be taking the appropriate legal action available to us.
