I am writing this regarding my father’s travel from San Francisco to Mangalore, India. His name is George Dsouza, he is 70 years old, and he started from San Francisco Airport on 05/19/22 at 10:30 pm by Air India Flight AI184, flight confirmation no. HW69K, and reached Delhi airport at 03:30 am on 05/21/22. He was supposed to take his next flight, AI887, to Mumbai, and from Mumbai to Mangalore by flight AI679. He was also to have wheelchair assistance on all the flights. We received a call from the boarding of his flight from Delhi to Mumbai, saying that he was a no-show to board the flight as he had the boarding pass for the Delhi to Mumbai flight, which he got in San Francisco. We frantically began looking for him, however he was nowhere to be found and we called Air India, the airport, and the police department several times, however, we did not get any help. After many hours, a lady called us and said that there was an old man (my father) crying and visibly frustrated and that he would like to talk to us. Then, we talked to him, and we found out that his two check-in bags and handbag were missing by the hand of the wheelchair assistance man. We asked the lady to help us further and go back to the Air India counter to help us board him on another flight to Mumbai, but the counter told us there were no flights available till the next day, and that they would provide no food, accommodations, or any other alternatives till then. The Air India staff were so rude, saying that they were not responsible for my father missing his flight, and that we would have to pay for another ticket for him to reach Mangalore, and to arrange any alternate accommodations ourselves. This was a 70-year-old senior citizen in a place he had never been in before, with language difficulties and with a walking disability. Even the airport police would not help him, saying that he was drunk because of the way he was walking, even though we said multiple times he walked like that due to his disability. Even though Air India and the airport staff were lacking the humanity to help a senior citizen, there was kindness shown by a random woman who helped us to the extent of buying a ticket on an Indigo flight which was available for that day, for my father to make his way back to Mangalore, and stayed with him, making sure he was fed, for Ā 3-4 hours till he was safe and boarded, despite the fact that she herself had to drive back to Punjab. Isnāt it Air Indiaās job to make sure a senior citizen with wheelchair assistance gets to his destination safe and sound with his baggage? How can you let an elderly man stay in the airport with no food and water, with no one to call?
Also wanted to enquire about the lost luggage form air-india, is there any ways we can track or find the luggage
