    Sub: Complaint letter for denied boarding

    Respected Sirs,

    I am writing this letter to make a complaint regarding the incident where in I was not allowed to board my flight on 06 June 2019 – AI-663 (BOM to GOA) even though I had a confirmed booking and had my boarding pass and luggage identified n handed over to the Counter Staff at the Air India Counter at the Mumbai International Airport.

    I had arrived Bombay from Dubai (AI 0912) and was taking the flight to Goa. I had cleared my luggage customs and handed my luggage at the Domestic Air India Counter at the International Terminal at Bombay around 8:30am. They checked my boarding pass (BOM-GOA) and then even accepted my baggage and asked me to report to the departure lounge at 12:30pm to board the flight. I reached the Boarding gate (42A) at 12 pm.

    When the boarding announcement was made at 12:45pm, the two air India male counter staff denied my boarding saying that my check-in was rejected even though I had the boarding pass and i was told that my luggage was off loaded too.
    The Two Counter staff were very rude and arrogant towards me and three other passengers who also travelled from Dubai and were also denied boarding in the same way.

    We repeatedly requested the counter staff to help us in whatever way possible to enable us to board our flight on the following grounds;
    ā€¢ I had a confirmed booking and was checked-in well in advance.
    ā€¢ My luggage was already tagged for my final destination- Goa on the said flight.
    ā€¢ I had a family religious function to attend the same evening.
    ā€¢ A family member had travelled from Tivim to pick me up from the airport but with this change, would have to return back.
    However, the counter staff rudely replied ,ā€ You have been denied boarding and after the flight leaves , you can accompany me back to the check-in counter and sort the issue with the air india staff there.ā€

    In the meantime, we noticed that ,there was a foreigner female who had travelled in the DXB-GOA same fight with us and she was allowed to board the flight as scheduled unlike us.

    When we reached back to the check-in counter around 2:00pm, the air India counter staff could not answer us the reason for this mess-up saying that we should speak to the manager.

    Finally, the manager reached the counter after half an hour, very apologetic accepting that we were denied boarding because it was Air Indiaā€™s Fault that caused the issue.

    In this bargain, we lost a lot of valuable time and we were stressed out and mentally exhausted and to add to this all, I had carried a lot of food stuff from Dubai for my family in Goa which got spoilt due to the way the luggage was mishandled by Air India staff due to their fault.

    Even though, the manager generously gave us a business lounge to relax before the next flight which was at 4:30pm and gave us a business class seat on that flight. However, this still doesnā€™t compensate for the huge losses/stress/inconvenience (material, mental, time etc.) that we were put into for no fault of ours and without any prior intermission.
    I shall highly appreciate if the concerned authorities will look into this matter seriously and suitably compensate me with a complimentary ticket for the next travel back to India and also take appropriate actions so this incident does not happen again and no other passenger should suffer like how we did and go through this trauma.

    Your Counter staff also (check-in and boarding counter) maybe properly trained to be more humble and understanding and considerate with the passengers at all times.

    I was book business class to travel this morning unfortunately my flight got cancelled due technical. I was in the airport from 12am this morning until 9.30 this morning 26th September I am trying to call the Duty Manager 050/4557580 and there is no answer the customer call centre is so difficult to get thru. I want to know if I am booked tonights flight which is departing at 23.30 the ground staff at the airport told me to check also with the call centre they have no clue.
    I am diabetic and I am exhausted and sick of this service.
    Please do not do this to any passenger this is unacceptable.
