    Dear Sir or Madam

I am Nkwan Jacob Gobte, from Kumbo, NWR, Cameroon. I was scheduled for flight KQ577 on March 22, 2017, seat number 5WXVKD. I had to take off from Douala at 12:10, but I have to pick up my visa from the South African Embassy in Yaounde. I am writing to ask if I can take off from Yaounde, instead of Douala, if possible

    Dear Kenya Airways authorities,

It is with great bitterness that I write this email to you.

I was travelling from Douala to Nairobi on 31 May 2021 on board of the KT 654. I had a rucksack and another brown Luis Vitton bag with a padlock that blocked the large weight pocket (about 14kg).

When I arrived at the Nairobi airport, I was surprised to find that my luggage was missing, along with some other passengers own, even though the flight was a non-stop flight.

Naturally, I approached the claims agent who took my details and assured me that she would come and deliver my luggage to the MOVENPICK HOTEL before 9 am (1st June 2023) as I had a conference in the presence of the European Commission.

The agent assured me that she had asked for my luggage to be given priority on the next direct flight, which was the RWANDAIR flight.

Very tired, I went to the hotel and in the morning I was surprised to find no luggage, no messages, no emails, no apologies. I then contacted a colleague who called the agency manager in Nairobi a Friend of hers. After this call I received a message and early the next day (2nd June 2023) an email from the agency apologising.

Two days before I was due to return to my country (Cameroon), on 3th June 2023, I went to the airport, which, after a lot of hassle and some very unpleasant exchanges, gave me a consolation package explaining that the delay in delivering my luggage and the psychological and emotional damage and loss of earnings that this could have caused me was only worth $100.

Bruised and feeling diminished, I initially refused to accept this insulting sum, but on the advice of my local Kenyan colleagues, who persuaded me and I took it.

The agent assured me once again that my luggage would be delivered before I would have to leave Nairobi.

Finally, the 5th of June came and I was forced to leave without my luggage. But before I did that, and to avoid any misunderstanding, I came back to the claim luggage desk to confirm that, despite the inconvenience of the long journey ahead of me, I had gone to the claims agent at Terminal 1A and explained that I was already on my way back. She then made some changes to my file, but refused to print it to me a new one as she didn’t thought it would make any difference. I insisted, explaining that I didn’t want to put my luggage through any trouble that might damage it and increase the risk of it being stolen. She told me that she had already changed it destination to Cameroon.

So I returned to my country (Cameroon) very sad and anoint.

When I landed, I received a message that my luggage had arrived at its destination and I rushed to the baggage claim area of Douala airport, but unfortunately there was nothing there.
After checking the system, the agent in Douala airport told me that according to what he had seen, my luggage had just arrived in Nairobi.

All of this fuels the feelings and emotions with which I’m writing this email, because after several trips, I’ve never experienced this kind of trouble and inconvenience.

I would like to know the following:

    – I want to receive all the locations where my luggage was and is at the moment.

    – How can I get hold of it as I’m already in Douala in Cameroon (I want material proof of my luggage as I have to inform my insurance company) about all changes.

    – Who will pay for the physical, psychological and emotional damage and, above all, the loss of earnings that the absence of my luggage (clothes and tools) is causing me?

    – I would like you to send me Kenya Airways’ claims policy.

    – I intend to do what is necessary so that my right as a human being and as a customer be restored.

I hope to hear from you very soon with details on each of the above points.

I would like to point that Kenya airways has stains my first experience in Kenya which is unfortunate.

    Thank you,
