Checked baggage cannot exceed 32kg.

Youā€™ll be required to repack your baggage if it exceeds 32kg. If you wish to transport a bag that is more than 32kg in weight

Baggage size limitation

If youā€™re checking in a bulky item at Singapore Changi Airport, it should not exceed 200cm (length) x 75cm (width) x 80cm (height).

Additional items allowed on board

You may carry ONE of these items with flights, free of charge, in addition to your cabin baggage allowance (subject to country restrictions, where applicable):

  • Ladiesā€™ handbag
  • Camera / Camera bag
  • Document bag
  • Overcoat
  • Umbrella
  • Laptop / Notebook in bag
  • Infantā€™s amenities and food for consumption on board. weight of these items should not exceed 6kg
  • A walking stick, a pair of crutches and/or other prosthetic devices,

The maximum dimensions for these bags are 40x30x10cm each. If your item exceeds the total dimension of 80cm (the length, width and height combined), it will be counted as part of your standard cabin baggage allowance.

Cabin baggage checks

  • At check-in, cabin baggage that exceeds the allowed limits must be checked in. Prior to boarding, cabin baggage that exceeds the allowed limits will be collected and stored in the aircraft cargo compartment.
  • Excess baggage charge may be added if the combined weight or pieces with the bags already checked in exceeds your checked baggage allowance.

How to report Delayed / damaged baggage

If your baggage did not arrive with you or is damaged, we will do everything we can to recover, repair, and return your baggage.

Delayed Baggage

Lodge a report: A delayed baggage report can be lodged online or at the Lost & Found Office at the arrival airport.
Receive your reference number: You will receive a 10-character File Reference Number to be used for future correspondence regarding your case.
Get status updates: We will send email updates for up to seven days. Alternatively,

Damaged baggage

If your checked baggage arrived damaged, immediately make a report at the airport.

If your flight arrived in Singapore within the last 72 hours and was operated by Singapore Airlines, lodge a report here.
If your flight operated by Singapore Airlines arrived after 72 hours, report using the webform here, within 7 days of your flight arrival.

Not responsible for baggage damage includes:

  • Cuts, scratches, scuffs, dents and marks;
  • Damage to or loss of protruding parts, including straps, pockets, pull handles, hangar hooks, wheels, external
  • locks, security straps, or zipper tabs;
  • Damage due to improper or overpacking;
  • Baggage accepted under the conditions of the Limited Release Tag – including items retrieved or confiscated by airport authorities or security personnel.

What are the prohibited items from carriage as or in Checked Baggage?

  • Lithium batteries and lithium battery mobile power packs (like Charger Pal) not for personal uses are strictly prohibited from carriage (during flight).
  • Explosives
  • Combustible & non-combustible
  • Toxic & non-toxic gases, compressed gases
  • Lighters and matches
  • Oxidant and organic peroxides
  • Poisonous substances
  • Infectious substances
  • Radioactive or magnetized materials
  • Corrosive substances
  • Threatening or irritating substances

Prohibited and Restricted Items at the Airport

Items that not allowed to carry on Singapore Airline Checked baggage

  • Don’t keep any important documents and materials, valuable items like negotiable papers, money, jewelry, precious metal and precious metal product, curio, painting and calligraphic works, mobile phone, computer, camera, video camera, personal electronic device and samples, travel identification documents and prescribed medicine taken regularly.
  • It does not provide declared value of Baggage.
  • The mentioned above items treated as ordinary checked baggage if Airlines are responsible for the loss of or damage to them.
