Originair is an airline based in Nelson, New Zealand, that operates domestic flights in New Zealand. It was founded in 2015 by local businessman Robert Inglis, who had previously founded Air Nelson and Origin Pacific Airways. Originair commenced operations on 12 August 2015 with flights between Nelson and Palmerston North; it started flights between Nelson and Wellington the following month. The airline began its operations with one British Aerospace Jetstream 31 aircraft, and now operates a fleet of four aircraft, following the addition of another 2 Jetstream 32 aircraft.
Originair Carry-on Baggage Allowance
- The maximum weight of Cabin baggage is 7kg.
- Children (2 to 12 years) are carry one piece of baggage weighing up to 7kg.
- Infants (7 days to 23 months) are entitled to one nursery bag weighing up to 7kgs.
Originair Checked Baggage Allowance
- The maximum weight of checked baggage is 15kg.
- The maximum dimension not exceed 158cm.
- Children (2 to 12 years) are carry one piece of baggage weighing up to 15kgs per person.
Originair Excess Baggage Allowance
All excess baggage is subject to space availability.

- Up to 15kg – Free (included with fare)
- 16kg to 20kg – $15
- 21kg to 25kg – $25
- 26kg to 30kg – $35
- Second piece – $40 for up to 20kg (carried where space available, bags above 20kg incur standard excess baggage charges)
- Oversized item – $50 up to 32kg (carried where space is available)
