My hold bag was lost when transferring from LATAM to QATAR Airways at GRU on 19 December. I was travelling Business from Porto Alegre to Sao Paula to Bangkok. The HAQIBA file reference is BKK2326816 and the bag contains my wife’s Christmas presents – not expensive but personal. I have reported it through all the systems including WhatsApp but no response. Ticket number 1579492148477 and tag number LA144767.
Could I have the phone number of the Qatar baggage services at the Sao Paulo GRU so I can try to follow up? There was a Qatar Airways guy who was trying to ensure the bag was transferred so he may remember it.
Hello, I am a retired professor of business administration who chose Qatar Airways since it was declared as the best airlines in the world for several years including 2021.
I purchased two round-trip tickets from Ä°stanbul to Brasilia for myself and my son from Qatar Airways. We arrived in Graulhos Airport on schedule and quickly picked up our luggage and went to the Latam desk in the domestic departures for our connecting flight to Brasilia on April 27, 2022. There, we were told that our flight was already closed and that Qatar Airways made a mistake not leaving enough time for us for to check in to our connecting flight. They told us to go to the Qatar Airways office at the airport for a rescheduling.
We found the office but its door was closed. We knocked on the door and waited for some time. Finally, a lady opened the door. She told us to come back in 15 minutes. There is nowhere there that two tired and sleepless passengers with their luggages can go and come back within 15 minutes. She went inside and closed the door. There were empty seats for customers inside, but obviously the personnel in that office don’t like to be bothered by customers. Other passengers came and were treated likewise. Then, Helena the office manager came and presumably started to work on our tickets without asking us anything. I had to urgently inform the people who were going to pick us up at the Brasilia airport, but nobody at the Graulhos office was communicating with us. We waited for quite some time.
After a while, a two meter tall young gentleman in a company uniform who spoke good English gave us our new tickets. I tried to question him what the problem was and why we were left in limbo for such a long time. He seemed to be irritated and showed us the door. Although he didn’t say anything wrong, his body language was intimidating and his demeanor was quite rude. I asked him whether I could take a picture of his name badge with my phone. He got angry and said “no”! I managed to have him scribble his name on a piece of paper reading something like: Guillermo Cala.
I have no complaints against Guillermo at all. He is a young man with a lot of potential. The problem is with Qatar Airways which failed to provide proper training to its employees at that office. They seem to think they are the bosses doing a favor to customers in correcting a company mistake. They don’t seem to be aware that they are representing the company employing them and they don’t seem to identify with Qatar Airways at all. Very unprofessional!
Rather than posting a public comment, I wanted to send an e-mail to the supervisor in charge. There is a section for an e-mail on this page above, but no e-mail address. I am concerned with this matter only for the sake of other passengers who may have similar negative experiences. If I don’t get an apology or a convincing explanation on my e-mail below within a reasonable period of time, I will send complaints to relevant international institutions, to consumer protection agencies, to media platforms, to Mr. Akbar Al Baker, and to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

I also got a ticket for the domestic bird in the cargo area.
The flight to Qatar had been planned in advance.
The delivery of the bird was prevented at the moment of loading.

– they don’t answer your complains in ConsumerĀ“s support websites
– they don’t answer your complains even in GovermentĀ“s customer support websites
– they take 10 days to answer a single email and donĀ“t solve anything, just tell you to call the phones (that never answer)
