According to Jyotiraditya Scindia, minister of civil aviation, the Digi Yatra facility will be accessible at 25 additional airports by 2024. At the moment, 13 airports offer the service to domestic travelers. Digi Yatra uses facial recognition technology (FRT) to enable contactless, smooth passenger transit at multiple airport checkpoints.
Scindia announced at a conference in the nation’s capital that Digi Yatra will launch at 14 airports in the first phase and an additional 11 airports in the second phase of the following year.
According to him, Digi Yatra will be accessible at 25 additional airports by the end of 2024, bringing the total number of airports with the service to 38.
Currently, 13 airportsāhandling around 85% of the nation’s domestic flight passenger trafficāoffer the Digi Yatra option. The facility will be accessible at 38 airports in all, which handle about 95% of the traffic, starting next year.

A passenger must use the DigiYatra app to register their details, utilizing self-image capture and Aadhaar-based validation, in order to utilize the service. The boarding pass must be scanned in the following phase, after which the credentials are given to the airport.

The passenger must first scan their bar-coded boarding pass at the airport e-gate in order for the facial recognition technology there to verify their identity and travel document. The passenger can use the e-gate to enter the airport after this procedure is complete.
The traveler must adhere to standard protocol in order to pass security and board the airplane.
